I made this weeks sketch challenge card with the free paper called Irresistibly Yours from Stampin’ Up’s best offer of the year Sale-a-bration.
The paper is so much nicer in the flesh. It is white and the pattern is in a glossy white finish which means you can colour it, brayer it, ink it, spray it and get beautiful bespoke paper to suit your own projects.
You get 12 sheets of 12×12″ paper FREE if you place an order for £45+ and you get 2 each of 6 designs. See page 15 of the sale-a-bration brochure for more details.
I cut three flag shapes the same size and then coloured them in three colour inks, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo. I graduated the ink and made the ink coverage darker at the top and lighter as it went down the flag shape. It shows the pretty white glossy part of the paper beautifully and the gloss finish resists the ink so you simply wipe away an excess once you have finished colouring.
The gorgeous Bermuda Bay sequin trim added a pretty detail and the pop of black from the Hello You Thinlit Dies added just the right amount of focus. I wish I had created a cleaner cut with the die though, time for a new piece of wax paper I think!
I also created the butterfly from the Irresistibly yours free paper and coloured it with Island Indigo Ink and punch out a Bitty Butterfly punch. Quick and simple to make but I really like the finished effect. Here is the sketch we used this week from Stamping&Blogging –
