White Christmas from Stampin’ Up! for #GDP013

November 30, 2015 By Michelle Last

This weeks challenge is a colour challenge.  Great Christmassy colours too and pretty easy to put together so I really hope to see lots of you joining in with the challenge this week.  If you wish to join in, pop on over to Global Design Project to upload your card, you get till Saturday before the winners are announced.

#GDP013 colour challenge

So here my offering this week…..

#GDP013 Global Design Project Colour Challenge

It has been a while since I have used my lovely White Christmas stamp set from the annual catalogue and I knew I wanted to make some holly.

#GDP013 Global Design Project Colour Challenge

I used the sentiment from Reason for the Season and made some holly with the oval punch and the 1/2″ circle punch. I also embossed the softly falling embossing folder on the back ground, can you see my mistake, I embossed the cardstock upside down so that my snowflakes are not raised but sunken 🙂  I thought it looked pretty cool so left it rather than re-stamping the background again!

I also had my sewing machine out as I was make some napkins from some tea towels so I sewed around the edge of the white cardstock.

And I managed to get a little gloss on the holly buy painting a thin layer of crystal effects on them.  I thought it made it look more like holly and lastly the berries are from the seasonal catalogue.

I bet you cannot wait to see what all the other designers have made this week with this colour palette so why don’t you pop on over to the Global Design Challenge Blog to take a look.…..

If you wish to purchase any of the items I used to make this card, simply click any of the images below to go direct to my online shop and don’t forget to add this months hostess code if you order is £20+ or less then £150. Have a great week everyone x

I love when a card tells a story – even if the story isn’t mine or yours, it looks like there’s quite a scene here. Love the stitching – so many great details on this gorgeous card.

Your card is gorgeous Michelle. I love how the white background pops on the Crumb Cake base. Your holly is also adorable and very clever. The Crystal Effects really makes it shine (if you’ll pardon the pun!). Xo

I am always impressed with anyone who sews on their cards Michelle!! I love your beautiful Holly and the great tip about using Crystal Effects to make the leaves glossy. Sadly my White Christmas stamp set hasn’t seen much use this year either, but I want to pull it out and dust it off now thanks to you!
