Hello Friend Swing Card

I saw a card on Facebook a while back called a Swing Card and I had never seen one before so I decided to have a go at making one.  I reached for the Hello Friend stamp set and as I can make most things by eye and don’t need measurements.  It just takes a little time and a little experimenting to be able to work it out and I am pleased to say I did it!

It looks pretty standard  from the front and I decided to simply use a piece of patterned paper for the front panel and add the large hello greeting from the hello friend stamp set which I heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

The magic happens with you pull open the card…

The card flips and spins open to reveal the inside. I stamped the beautiful wreath from the Hello Friend stamp set using the Baby Wipe Technique to get the foliage of the wreath varying colours of green.  I added a ribbon bow and left room for a hand written message.

The little circle sentiment is also from Hello Friend and stop the middle section from spinning open too far.

Pretty cool technique huh?  I don’t have an instructions or measurements as I made it by eye but if you google ‘swing card’ you should see various templates and tutorials.

Give it a try, it was fun to make although next time I would use the extra thick whisper white cardstock to make it a little more sturdy.

Good Job! Hope you are doing better. I worked on a circle center/swing yesterday! I cheated though, Crafters Companion have dies available for several different swing cards! Step cards are lots of fun too. I like to try new fancy folds. I have not seen this one though, once you get the hang of one you can do whatever shape fits your fancy! TFS
