Beautiful Bouquet from Stampin’ Up!

Look at the beautiful array of flowers in the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!  It pairs beautifully with the Jar of Love stamp set which I wanted to use as we are casing Steffi Helmschrott at the Global Design Project this week.

Beautiful Bouquet from Stampin Up

I really enjoyed stamping and die cutting several of the flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet set and then arranging them in the jar from Jar of Love.  I stamped the jar with versa mark and heat embossed it in white embossing powder and heat set it in vellum which was over laid onto a stamped grey jar to add a little dimension.

It meant I could also tie a bow around the top of the jar and secure it in place.

I stamped the greeting using a berry burst marker and a base grey marker and used the Berry Burst to pick out the words picked and friend.

I added a hand drawn line around the edge and a little strip of patterned paper to add some interest.

We are casing Steffi Helmschrott from Germany this week at the Global Design Project.

Steffi is super talented and a past Artisan Design Team member, I’d really recommend you pop over to her blog and take a look at her designs.  This is her card we are to case for this weeks challenge….#GDP092 casing Steffi Helmschrott

This Little Piggy went roller skating!

My heart is full…..  I have just had the most wonderful team weekend and only got back Sunday evening and had yet to make my Global Design Project card.  Just before I left for the retreat I received my delivery and got my long awaited for This Little Piggy Stamp Set.   I don’t think I could love a stamp set more.

I could NOT wait to get this stamp set inky and when I saw the theme for this weeks challenge I was stumped for a moment as it was Wheels, yes wheels!!!! But having spent the weekend with a incredible people and really being so thankful to have a fantastic team and for Stampin’ Up! I wanted to use the greeting in this set and of course use the colour pink as our team name is the Pinkies and so I just had to use the piggies, wheels or no wheels.

This LIttle Piggy from Stampin' Up!

I used some artistic license and added some roller skates using a marker pen and the new mini sequins for wheels.  I hope the lovely GDP organise Louise forgives me 🙂

There are so many lovely new elements on this card and I could not be happier after spending the weekend with team members who I adore to get stamping.

This Little Piggy #GDP091

I am filled with inspiration after seeing so many samples and projects.  I received amazing swaps, attended some fabulous classes including how to get the blue on the background using watercolour pencils (thank you Sarah Berry) and laughed until my jaw hurt.

I love my team, they are inspirational, kind, supportive and great great fun!  I am truly blessed and they truly make me happy.

Now don’t be afraid to think outside the box and find a way to add wheels to your crafting projects and join the Global Design Project challenge this week.  We would love you to enter!

Technique 101 using Stampin Write Markers

Technique 101 with Michelle Last

Today at the Technique 101 we are sharing some tips and ideas on how to make a quick and simple card using the Stampin Write Markers from Stampin Up.

I decided to showcase the colouring of the stamps using the markers with the Label Me Pretty Stamp set and matching Pretty Label Punch.

Label Me Pretty using Stampin Write Markers

I used the beautiful Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper for the card background.  I coloured the pretty stamp with the flower detail with 4 different colour markers all from the Subltes Collection of Stampin’ Write Markers in Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz.

Technique 101 Stampin Write Markers

How I made my card

I used the thick tip of the marker and colour each element separately.  You will find that when you first colour the ink is wet and shiny but as it dries (which is pretty quickly) it dulls on the red rubber.  Don’t rush or worry how long it takes to colour your stamp that the ink is going to dry and you won’t get a good stamped impression.

You simply need to re-moisten the stamp by breathing hard on the red rubber and the moisture in your breath with re-moisten the ink and then you can stamp onto whisper white cardstock and punch out using the Pretty Label Punch.

I then stamped the chosen greeting using Dapper Denim Ink (which I picked out of the delightful daisy dsp) and punched around it with my 1 3/8″ circle punch which nests perfectly in the Pretty Label Punch which I raised with a dimensional.

I used the notecards and envelopes from Stampin’ Up which are cut and scored and a smaller size so not daunting for beginner crafts and a great price too!

I love that you can own so many of our ink colours if you purchase the Stampin Write Markers and then simply choose the ink pads in your favourite colours.  It means you have a wide array of colours to use and its a great way to build your collection when you first get started.  The marker pens are filled with dye ink which is exactly the same as the ink pads, so fast drying and perfectly matches our coloured cardstock, embellishments, papers etc.

Lovely Words Dies from Stampin’ Up!

I am sharing the fantastic new dies from Stampin Up called Lovely Words Thinlits.  They have a coordinating stamp set called Lovely Inside & Out and I was able to make this really striking card using these brand new products.

Lovely Words Thinlits Stampin Up

This week at the Global Design Project we have a sketch challenge, I have used quite a lot of artistic licence with this weeks sketch and we would love you to join us and share something you have made using this sketch too!

How I made my card

I tried to echo the diagonal background with the friend word from the Lovely Inside & Out co-ordinating stamp set.  I heat embossed the friend word using clear embossing powder.

I had to use a stamp a majig to get the word into diagonal lines.

I also cut 1cm strips of cardstock in 4 colours Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo and Pool Party and glued them to a piece of scrap cardstock to mount behind the die cut word.  I added the tied bow with black and white bakers twine.

We would really love you to pop over the Global Design Project to see what the other designers have made and also enter your own card for this weeks challenge.

All the items I used to make this card are shared below, simply click any of the items to go direct to that item in my online shop.  Please don’t forget to use the monthly hostess code to receive a free thank you gift.  More details about the hostess code thank you gift can be found here….

Rose Wonder from Stampin’ Up!

This week at the Global Design Project we are casing the designer Shawn Olivera.  Shawn makes beautiful cards, you really need to pop over to his blog to see the stuff he creates as you will be blown away.  He used the beautiful Rose Wonder dies to create his card and its our job this week to case his card.  Here is my card made using Rose Wonder.

Rose Wonder from Stampin Up

How did I make this clean and elegant card?
  • Die cut the largest flower twice and layer the die cut to make it thicker.
  • Snip off the leaves to separate them from the main flower.
  • Glue the die cut to whisper white card and coloured the inside relief area with watercolour pencils.
  • Add Wink of Stella to add some sparkle.
  • Score around the edge of the card base using my scoring tool twice to add an embossed frame.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Better Together stamp set in Smoky Slate Ink.
  • Cut the leaves and stick them so they nestled behind the main flower head.
  • Stick the rose and leaves to the card front with dimensionals to give depth and dimension.

I really hope you join is with this weeks challenge, this is the card we are casing…
