Father’s Day – Nailed It from Stampin’ Up!

I have a cute little Fathers Day project to share with you using the Nailed It stamp set and a sneak peek of the Wood Crate Framelits coming in the new catalogue on 1st June.

Nailed It and Wood crate from Stampin up

I presented a product spotlight at the recent Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in Amsterdam and shared the wonderful new Wooden Crate framelit dies.
I cut out the crate and stamped it with the hardwood background stamp and sponged the edges to give it some dimension.

I cut off the base of the crate and added two horizontal inserts inside the box so that the box can fold flat and it is also somewhere for the tools to stick to to keep them in place inside the crate.

I stamped and handcut the tools from the Nailed it stamp set.  This set is still available in our retiring product sale as it won’t be carried over although the matching framelits are no longer available which is a shame but I did not own the framelits so I simply hand cut the shapes out.

I shredded some burlap ribbon and stuck clumps inside the crate to add more texture and hide the inserts.

The greeting ‘You’re the best’ is from the Urban District stamp set which is retiring but still available, not for long I suspect so don’t wait around to get your order in.

Don’t forget we have the Eastern Palace Suite available as an early release.

There are so many options using these stamps and dies and using the new InColours and heavy weight very vanilla cardstock too! Click the image below of any of the supplies shared below as they will take you direct to my shop.

A bit of fun with Balloon Celebration

I was hosting a Stampin Up party last week and we were using the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and one of the ladies misjudged the stamping of the dots/shading and what she made gave me an idea for this card.  (Thanks for the giggle Anne 😉

I then used the little dandelion flower to create hair and the tied up end of the balloon to create some ears and nose!

So funny and a great quick card. I bet you did not think of using the balloon stamp to create a head!

Have a great day everyone :

Happy Monday, I have my weekly Global Design Project card to share with you today.  This weeks challenge is a sketch and you can play along too!

Here is what I made using the NEW and FREE Sky is the Limit stamp set which is free with every £45 you spend until 15 February during sale-a-bration.  It is a limited time only free product so don’t miss out on getting your hands on this stamp set as it is a perfect set for the men in our lives.

Sky is the Limit #GDP018

I don’t often like making men’s cards but I really love how this turned out!

Sky is the Limit #GDP018

I added a black candy dot to the centre of the propellor and it just made such a difference!

Sky is the Limit #GDP018

I did a little fancy die cutting by cutting only part of the image with the circle framelits and hand cutting the part of the wing and wheel which was outside the circle.

Here is the sketch and we would love it if you joined the Global Design Project and make something this week.  Saturday is the deadline to get your cards posted on the blog and 3 people are selected as winners each week. Pop on over to the blog to see what the other wonderful design team members made using the same sketch!

Amazing Birthday from Stampin’ Up! using a sketch

I rustled up this little number using the Amazing Birthday stamp set using a sketch challenge from Stamping&Blogging today.  I think this is a perfect mans card and I used the Trim the Tree paper for the background and trimmed some strips to add a pop of colour.

Amazing-Birthday-from Stampin' Up!

I stamped the rectangular sentiment again in crumb cake and cut out the key words ‘Today’ and ‘Amazing’ and mounted them higher on dimensionals which gives some dimension and interest. You can see what I mean below….

Tap Tap Tap men’s card using a sketch & Stampin Up products

I made a card for a male friend in the US.  I find it quite hard to make mens card but with this stamp set it was a breeze!
taptaptap from stampin upI went to town with this card, I stamped the draw the line stamp (the notebook lines) in the background by masking off the typewriter.  I added a spiral border punch to make it look like notepaper and coloured in the typewriter with an aqua painter and added some crystal effects on the typewriter keys.  I used the note stamp to create the flag as shown in the sketch below and then the ticket duo builder punch to make a dumpy ticket and added the ‘hi’ sentiment.  The little mini stapler from stampin up added a utilitarian feel to the card but it was all looking rather black and grey so the arrows from the wooden elements added some dimension and a different colour focus too!
taptaptap from stampin up using a sketchThe alphabet keys in the background in Basic Gray ink added a nice subtle detail.
Here is the sketch which inspired me….
Stamping & Blogging sketch 72 I cannot wait to see what the other ladies have made with this sketch, I wonder if anyone has used the Tap Tap Tap stamp set? Let’s go find out!
