Handmade Cards for our New Home

We moved house last week and all the boxes are unpacked and we are settling in nicely.   What is making it feel more like home are all the lovely cards and gifts we have been sent.  Receiving something through the post unexpectedly is a real treat and we have been truly spoiled by all the handmade cards and gifts.New Home Handmade Cards using Stampin Up

Not saying I have too many Stampin’ Up! deliveries but even my UPS driver sent us a card!

Some of the cards I received were handmade and I wanted to share them with you as they are far too nice to keep them to myself.

Thank you Gaynor Boyce (www.gaynorboyce.blogspot.co.uk), Tracy Abrahams (www.tracyabrahams.co.uk), Sue Hall (www.bbcarddesigns.co.uk), Bhavana Patel, Carol Donnelly, Chris Addison, Liz Yuille (www.oldstablescrafts.co.uk),  Hillie de Boer, Jan Malcolm and Angela Meiritz-Reid (www.stampingbeauty.blogspot.co.nz)Handmade Cards using Stampin Up Supplies

Cake Soiree from Stampin’ Up!

This elegant card is perfect for a birthday or wedding card using the Cake Soiree stamp set in the seasonal catalogue.
Cake Soiree from Stampin Up

I stamped and heat embossed the cake image and greeting (which is from teh Beautiful Bouquet stamp set) with white heat embossing powder onto Sahara Sand cardstock and then coloured the cake with an aqua painter and Whisper White Ink.  I dried it will a heat tool and then coloured the leaves and flowers using Bermuda Bay and Old Olive ink using the aqua painter.

A final flourish of ribbon and my card was complete.  I could have used the multitude of gorgeous dies that coordinate with this stamp set but decided to keep it plain and simple.

Butterfly Card made using Beautiful Day

I stamped a butterfly and was colouring it for another card I was making using the Beautiful Day stamp set and I had this scrap which I was able to cut out with the layering squares framelits.

Butterfly Card using Stampin Up

I embossed a whisper white card base using the Layered Leaves Embossing folder and mounted a scallop square in Basic Gray and layered a smaller smoky slate square and then the stamped square.

It was a very happy accident that the die cut word ‘hugs’ from the Lovely Words Thinlits reached perfectly from side to side of the square frame (once I had snipped it out of its original frame).

The Butterfly was coloured with Stampin’ Blends in Pink Pirouette Light and Dark and Calypso Coral Light.  I edged the wings with crumb cake light to add a little shadow.

Simple but effective and a great way to use up your scraps and who does not love butterflies?

Birthday Blossoms from Stampin’ Up!

I hope you are safe and warm and not suffering any disruption in the current stormy weather we are suffering.  I have something to brighten your day using the Birthday Blossoms Stamp set.  It’s in the annual catalogue and an old favourite of mine as it has a perfect mix of images and greetings.Birthday Blossoms from Stampin' Up!

I did some masking by stamping the flower on a piece of photocopy paper and cutting it out to use as a mask.

I added the straight edge of the paper across the card front so as not to stamp below where the ribbon will be.

I coloured the image with my Stampin’ Blends and added some glitter dots for some more interest and dimension.  The ribbon bow adds a real pop of colour and is a welcome bit of brightness.

Pretty simple and easy to replicate using any of the greetings included in the set.

Sale-a-bration is in its final month and with every £45 you spend you can choose a free gift from the 16 items on offer.  There are some really lovely items including the recently added Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper.  There are lots of lovely free items to choose from, don’t hang about get them free with every £45 you spend.

If placing an order online, please use the monthly hostess code to receive an additional free thank you gift when spending £25+ and less than £150.  More details shared on my blog or get in touch if you need help.

Gift Card Holder using Stampin’ Up! products

This gift card holder is one of the first things I ever made when I joined Stampin’ Up!  My darling friend from Texas, Jackie Ross shared it with her lovely mum Val and Val shared how to make them at my scrapbooking crop.  It is such a simple idea and can decorated in so many ways and its a very special way to celebrate someone whilst giving them a store gift card.

Gift Card Holder made by Michelle Last

I used the Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts Stamp set which is adorable and perfect for colouring with the Stampin’ Blends.

I stamped and embossed the roof of the flower cart onto vellum and fussy cut around it to add some fun dimension.  Wait till you see inside….
Gift Card Holder by Michelle Last

The holder is simply a piece of 6 x 12″ cardstock, scored along the full length at 4″ and then at 3″, 6″ & 9″ for each section.

I used two of our punches to create little peek-a-boo windows and lined up some images and greetings so they showed through the windows.

I used the little tiny slit die in the Lots to Love Box Framelits so that it holds a standard store gift card.  There is room to handwrite your own greeting on two of the cards and I even stamped and coloured the back.

The Lemon Lime Twist ribbon adds a lovely pop of colour.

I love how it turned out and who wouldn’t love receiving a gift card presented in this way?

You probably already know that saleabration is on and for every £45 you spend you can choose a free item from the 16 on offer.  Be sure to check out he brochures on the right as there are some gorgeous free items.
