Hearts Come Home Christmas Card

I am sharing one of the first Christmas Cards I’ve made.  I have used the ever so gorgeous Hearts Come Home Stamp set and matching Hometown Greetings Edgelits from Stampin Up for the sketch challenge with the Global Design Project.

Hearts Come Home from Stampin' Up!

You are absolutely going to love this bundle including the dies as there are so many house/building combo’s and limitless possibilities.

I wanted to go bright and cheery and had a blast using lots of colour, ink, ribbon and paper.  I still had my sewing machine out from last weeks card so I added some stitching too!

The trees are from the Card Front Builder Thinlits and add some height to the background.  I did ink the trees with the Old Olive Ink and a sponge brayer to add a little texture and the greeting is heat embossed in white.

Global Design Project #GDP106

I added lots of texture and dimension using ribbon, stitching, patterned paper and dimensionals.

We would love to see what you can make using this sketch challenge and enter your projects to be in with a chance of being selected as one of the 3 winners!

Let’s go over to the Global Design Project Website and see what the other design team members have made using the same sketch.

All the items I have used are shared below and if you click any of the images you go direct to that item in my shop and can place your own online order.  Be sure to enter the hostess code if you spend £20+ (and less than £150) to receive a free thank you gift as I really do appreciate your business.

Diagonal opening Gift Box

I saw a gift box on Pinterest and knew instantly I wanted to have a go.  I am not very good at following instructions and am more of a by eye/trial and error kind of a girl and this Diagonal opening Gift Box is the result.

Gift Box using Tags & Trimmings

I am so happy with how it turned out.

The happiness starts when you open it……

Tags & Trimmings Box Open made by Michelle Last

Love that pop of colour and how neat it closes.

I decorated the top of the box with the lovely modern holly stamp and diagonal stripe tag and a circle cut with the stitched shape framelit dies.

I also added the ‘It’s Inside that counts’ sentiment on the inside of the box lid for an added surprise.

I don’t have instructions or measurements to make this box, it really is a one off for me but if you google diagonal opening box you will see lots of other examples, video’s and helpful measurements.

Give it a try!

The products I used are all from Stampin’ Up! and available from my online shop, click any of the images below to  go direct to that item in my shop and add to your basket.

Please remember to use the monthly hostess code to receive a free thank you gift as I really appreciate you shopping with me.

Large Letter Dies from Stampin’ Up!

I had the most lovely job of creating some cards for my team members who have earned the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip to Alaska in 2018.  I used the Large Letter Dies and matching stamp set Letters For You both available from Stampin’ Up!

Large Letters Framelits from Stampin' Up!

I created a long thin card case and printed off a picture of the Alaska landscape and wrapped a piece of vellum over it to mute the background down a little.

I then stamped and die cut the word Alaska using the Letters for You and Large Letter Dies.  These dies are a big investment but oh so useful and a really great addition to your craft stash.  Imagine how easy it would be to create projects to celebrate those milestone birthdays and anniversaries.

If you have any new additions to your family its is great to be able to spell out the name of the new baby for a gift or home decor piece.

Each year I buy some silver charms which fit a Pandora style bracelet which match the destination of the incentive trip.  This year is a polar bear and I hope that over the years my lovely downline will be able to build up a lovely collection of charms to remind them of some fabulous trips they have earned and the experiences they have had.

Alaska team incentive trip celebration card 2018

So proud of you Jenny McCormac and Lisa Cornwall.  What fun we are going to have next July 🙂

I am super proud of the amazing women in my team and all their acheivements, what a lovely job I have to be able to celebrate them!

It was great fun to create a card with a background based on the destination, why not try it?

If you would like to place an order for the stamps or dies used in this project, they are available in my online shop.

If you are able to invest in a larger order and earn some Stampin’ Rewards you could use towards these items or if you host a party or can place an order with a sales total of £400 you can choose anytime for HALF PRICE.

Imagine getting these dies for £44.50 instead of £89.  If you are ever unsure on how to get the best deal or wish to book a party or event please get in touch as I am here to help.

Flirty Flowers from Stampin’ Up!

I have inked up a new stamp today for the colour challenge for the Global Design Project this week.  I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder the Flirty Flowers Stamp Set onto Crumb Cake cardstock.

Flirty Flowers from Stampin' Up!

I then coloured the flowers with Whisper White Craft Ink and an aqua painter and let it dry (you can use a heat tool).  I then coloured the flowers in Tangerine Tango and Peekaboo Peach using an aqua painter and for a more intense colour a blender pen.  The leaves are coloured with Lemon Lime Twist.

I wanted to add a final flourish and stitch around the edge with my sewing machine but I had the stitch set to too small which is why the top line hasn’t worked out so great!  Don’t you love it when you make a booboo on a card that has so many elements to it that you just have to run with it?

Here is the colour combo for the challenge at the Global Design Project this week…

Hug in a Mug from Stampin’ Up! for the Global Design Project

Welcome to my blog, today I am sharing a card made with the Hug in a Mug stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  I am casing a card from fellow design team member Allison Okamitsu.  Allison is super talented and an Artisan Design Team Member with Stampin’ Up!, you must go check out her blog.

Hug in a Mug from Stampin' Up!

I just love this little set in the new seasonal catalogue, it’s a great price at £15 and you can make varying mugs with varying contents and make it suit the theme of your card.

I heat embossed the mugs with white embossing powder and then added colour to the mugs using white ink.

The circle sentiment is cut using the Lovely Words Thinlits and the Layering Circle Framelits.

I used my stamp-a-majig to ensure the ‘sending warm thoughts’ to position my greeting in the gap of the die cut.

I added a raised mug stamped onto whisper white cardstock to give a little dimension.

This is the card I cased this week and I would love you to join us this week and make a card with the one below from Aliison as inspiration…
