Mediterranean Moments from Stampin’ Up!

I have a gorgeous coloured thank you card made using the Mediterranean Moments stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  My husbands work colleague is from Spain and he kindly gave us a bottle of his cold pressed Olive Oil from his region in Spain.

I wanted to make a thank you card and the Mediterranean moments stamp set seemed a perfect fit.Mediterranean moments from Stampin Up

I stamped the image onto watercolour paper and stitched around the edge onto early espresso card as I had my sewing machine handy.  I then set about colouring the image with a combo of watercolour pencils and inks and the blender pen.  Colouring really is very therapeutic and it really did not take long to get it coloured.  I then added a heat embossed thanks sentiment from the thankful thoughts stamp set.

The last detail was to add the fine tip glue to the bench and the lamps to create a shine to those images only once the glue had dried.

The stamps in this set are so detailed and if you need some ideas on what colours to use when colouring them in doing a google image search as there are lots of examples for inspiration.

Hey Chick stamps free during Sale-a-bration

Thanks for popping by today.  I am sharing a card I made for a colour challenge with the Global Design Project using the Hey Chick stamp set which is free during our amazing offer Sale-a-bration.

Hey Chick free during Sale-a-bration

Love this crazy looking chicken and I created the chick wire back ground by using our Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder and Inking one side of the folder with black ink so that it stamped and embossed the design in swipe through the big shot.

I then punched out a circle of cardstock and then cut into the circle to create the opening for the chicken.

I then grunged up the edges and inked the edges with a sponge and the Basic Grey Ink.  The chicken itself was stamped on whisper white and coloured using our wonderful watercolour pencils and a blender pen.

As I mentioned this week at the Global Design Project it is a colour challenge and these are the colours you can use to make your own project and share with us to be in with a chance of being the weekly winner and being a guest designer.

Note Card Box using Touches of Texture

I saw this little notecard box on Pinterest made by a French Stampin Up Demonstrator called Elodie and knew that I wanted to try making one for myself. I used Touches of Texture to make the notecards and I followed the instructions in the link above.  They are in French but with lots of photos so easy to understand even if you don’t speak French.
When I made the notecard box I was surprised how little it was, its really cute and would be perfect for business cards or really small notes/tags.

Touches of Texture Notecard Box

I used the gold polka dot paper from the Pop of Pink Speciality design series paper and gold foil to make the bow using the Bow Builder Punch.

To make the notecards to fit inside the box I simply cut our notecards in half and they fit perfectly.  If you wanted to make your own envelope you could use the envelope punch board.

I then decided to step it up and make a larger size using the maximum measurements possible with an A4 sheet.  This larger one fits a full size Stampin Up notecard.  I used mint macaroon cardstock and Moroccan Designer Series Paper.

Touches of Texture Notecards & Box

Here is a close up of the notecards.  I used scraps of coordinating cardstock and washi tape to tie in the notecards with the box.  The Touches of Texture stamp set is just lovely.

To show you the size difference I have lined up a regular C5 sized card and both notecards boxes and their contents.

Bella & Friends from Stampin’ Up! for Global Design Project

This weeks challenge over at the Global Design Project is a colour challenge.  I loved the colours of this weeks challenge and reached for the new stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called Bella & Friends.  Be warned its a really cute set and you are going to want it….

Bella & Friends #GDP045 Card & Glassine Bag

Look at that adorable little face!  The card was so simple I could not stop there, I had to create 3 more and put them in a Glassine Bag to give as a gift!

Bella & Friends Tag #GDP045

I die cut around his cute little face and stamped the sentiment to create the tag.  I only had a stock of the Sketched Dots Glassine Bags which are now retired but we do sell them without dots which may work better. I then stamped the other three dogs and kept the colouring pretty simple to keep the style of all the cards clean and simple.
Bella & Friends Card Gift Bag #GDP045

I embossed a border using the scoreboard on the whisper white cardstock and used a blender pen to smudge the black memento stamped image to create shading.

This is this weeks challenge and it gets even better, you can enter the colour challenge this week and if you are chosen as the winner you will be a guest designer on the next Global Design Project Colour Challenge.

#GDP036 Global Design Project CASE of Paula Dobson

Today we are casing the wonderful and super talented Paula Dobson from New Zealand with #GDP036.  Paula is a super talented member of the Global Design Project and is amazing at colouring and sponging.  All her cards have blown me away and this week we get to Copy and Selectively Edit one of her beautiful cards.

#GDP036 Helping Me Grow

I decided to use the Helping Me Grow stamp set which is carrying over into the new catalogue. I stamped it onto a white background in black ink and coloured the green stems and leaves.  I roughly coloured the flower heads in Flirty Flamingo (one of the new In Colours coming in June – and my fave!) and then stamped the flower heads again on a separate piece of cardstock,

I coloured the flower head with Flirty Flamingo marker pen and then added more depth of colour with Melon Mambo and Watermelon Wonder using a Blender Pen.

#GDP036 Helping Me Grow with MIchelle Last

I coloured the flower centres with black ink and added crystal effects to give a glossy finish.

I lightly sponged around the stamped flower to make the card pop a little more off the background.

I then added the coloured flowers to the card with a dimensional.  I used some new washi tape stuck to a piece of cardstock and cut out the you word using the Hello You Thinlits.  The thinking of is from the matching stamp set Crazy About You.

Here is the card of Paula’s we cased….
