Butterflies Thinlits from Stampin’ Up!

This week at the Global Design Project we are casing the designer Tanja Solar from Germany.  I have used the Butterflies Thinlits Dies as Tanja using the dragonfly in her beautiful card.    You must pop over to take a look at her lovely blog as she is super talented.  We are currently both in Thailand enjoying the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip together 🙂

Watercolor Wings from Stampin' Up! case of Tanja Kolar

I kept my card pretty simple this week and added lots of layers and textures.

How I made my Card
  • I cut a rectangle from the Foil Frenzy Speciality DSP and die cut the detailed butterfly using the Butterfly Thinlits.
  • I punched a piece of Pool Party card with the Ticket Tear Border Punch and layered it underneath the foil frenzy rectangle.
  • I cut a length of Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon and glued and stapled it to the foil frenzy rectangle.
  • I stamped a greeting from the Watercolor Wings stamp set onto white cardstock in black ink and cut into a rectangle.
  • I die cut a fancy strip from the Flourish Thinlits in Island Indigo cardstock.
  • Everything was layered up onto my whisper white card base.
  • I then added glue to the body of the butterfly and secured it into the die cut space to hold it to the card but left the wings to move freely.
  • A few rhinestones and it was complete.

Here is the lovely card we are casing this week from Tanja Kolar.

Butterfly Basics from Stampin’ Up! #GDP44

This weeks challenge over at the Global Design Project  is to case the designer and the designer is Steffi Helmschrott from Germany. Steffi has the most beautiful style and is also an Artisan Design team member for Stampin Up. That means she is on a team of fantastically talented crafters who make projects using Stampin Up supplies which the company use to share and promote its product range. Only one or two people to be Artisans from each country so its quite an accolade and also quite intimidating to case someone so talented.

But here is my entry using the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the Butterfly Thinlits.

Butterfly Basics #GDP44

I used the fluttering embossing folder to create the embossed butterfly background.  I stamped a panel of very vanilla cardstock with stamps from the Butterfly basics stamp set in black in so that they were visible through the medium butterfly die cut from Butterfly thinlits.

I then stuck the intricate die cut butterfly in the centre across its body so that the wings were raised and show the stamping below.

It needed a pop of very vanilla along the edges so I added a strip of the border from the new Flourish Thinlits.  I used the sentiment from Weather Together and the new punch called Classic Label.

Here is Steffi’s card which you have to case this week…#GDP44 Case the designer Steffi Helmschrott

butterfly thank you card for International Blog Highlight

I was invited to take part in this blog hop as I was chosen as one of the 3 winning cards in the Blog Highlight.  I went all fancy this time as opposed to my last thank you card (see blog post here) and used the Butterfly Thinlits and Bold Butterfly Framelits.  I did add some stamped detail and I stamped the back ground with the watercolour wash background stamp and added some gold embossed dots using a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge.

I cut out the thanks words in gold foil from the Greetings Thinlit dies and layered it over part of the swallowtail butterfly.

As you may know our retiring list is in full swing and items are selling out.  After 30th May the retired items will no longer be available so if you love them don’t let them go!

Thank you for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog – Michelle Last, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in the list.

Petite Petals Swap Cards for OnStage Local with Stampin’ Up!

It is our Stampin Up OnStage Local event in Telford today and I am super excited to spend the day with my team and lots and lots of demonstrators from across the UK.

When we meet we make swap cards to swap with one another.   It consists of making several of the same card to give to another demonstrator.  It is a great way to meet people and also to come home with swaps in different styles, using different products to share in your business.

This is my swap which was inspired by Mercedes Weber.  Mercedes is a super talented Artisan Design Team member and I love the cards she makes. I pinned her card a while back and then when I was scrolling through Pinterest for swap ideas I just knew I had to recreate her card almost to the letter!

I made (with some help, thank you to my sister) over 150 of these.  Some of them were a slightly more detailed stepped up version as shown above.  Then there were 70+ slightly simpler ones and then another 30+ smaller versions using notecards which are thank you cards for my online order customer this month.

You may think I would be sick to death of this card now but I’m not I still love it 🙂  Hope everyone else does.

Wising you a great weekend, will have lots of photos to share of the event next week.
