Super Duper Birthday Balloons from Stampin Up

Balloon Birthday Card using Super Duper

I fell in love with the Super Duper stamp set as soon as I saw in the new seasonal catalogue.  I just loved the graphic balloons and knew I could get a great image with just one stamp but this is the first chance I have had to play and share this set with you.  Balloons = Birthday so it was an easy choice for me!

I simply stamped the background using 4 colours of ink and the two balloon stamps.  You even get a little string stamp for the balloons!  I had my sewing machine out so I decided to add a stitched effect around the edge in grey thread to compliment the Smoky Slate card base I used.

I then cut three smoky slate happy die cut words from the Hello You Thinlits and one in whisper white and layered them to create dimension.  I simply stuck them in the centre so that the greeting popped against the bright coloured balloon background and add the word birthday from the Crazy About You stamp set.

A smattering of sequins was all it need to finish it off.

#GDP036 Global Design Project CASE of Paula Dobson

Today we are casing the wonderful and super talented Paula Dobson from New Zealand with #GDP036.  Paula is a super talented member of the Global Design Project and is amazing at colouring and sponging.  All her cards have blown me away and this week we get to Copy and Selectively Edit one of her beautiful cards.

#GDP036 Helping Me Grow

I decided to use the Helping Me Grow stamp set which is carrying over into the new catalogue. I stamped it onto a white background in black ink and coloured the green stems and leaves.  I roughly coloured the flower heads in Flirty Flamingo (one of the new In Colours coming in June – and my fave!) and then stamped the flower heads again on a separate piece of cardstock,

I coloured the flower head with Flirty Flamingo marker pen and then added more depth of colour with Melon Mambo and Watermelon Wonder using a Blender Pen.

I coloured the flower centres with black ink and added crystal effects to give a glossy finish.

I lightly sponged around the stamped flower to make the card pop a little more off the background.

I then added the coloured flowers to the card with a dimensional.  I used some new washi tape stuck to a piece of cardstock and cut out the you word using the Hello You Thinlits.  The thinking of is from the matching stamp set Crazy About You.

Here is the card of Paula’s we cased….

Sheltering Tree from Stampin’ Up!

I held my monthly technique class yesterday and we made three beautiful cards using the Sheltering Tree stamp set.  I CASED all the cards from google and will share them all over the coming days and give credit to those who inspired me.

Sheltering tree stampin upThis card was inspired by Michelle Long from Stampin’ 365 She did a wonderful job and created 4 beautiful cards using the sheltering tree stamp set using many different colours.  I love how the stamped image overflows the mat and I added some delightful dijon and pumpkin pie blossom to my tree to add a little more colour.

Look how sweet the broom is on the inside of the card – adorable!
Thanks Michelle for the inspiration, I really feel in love with this set one I got started and it has so many little elements to it you can really change the look and feel of the card!

Crazy About You stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

When I saw this weeks sketch I just knew I ho make a card with sun rays on the front!  I have not made one of these cards before and to be honest I just eyeballed it when making the rays!
Crazy About You from Stampin' Up!I punched out the circle and then added the rays and mounted it onto black card stock. I cut the hearts out and then cover alternate hearts with matching yellow cardstock.

All it then needed was a sentiment so I stamped hello sunshine from the Crazy About You Stamp set and finished it off with a button.
Crazy About You from Stampin' Up!Here is the sketch which got me thinking of sun rays –
