Dragonfly Dreams Bee Card from Stampin’ Up!

This weeks challenge at the Global Design Project is to make a card featuring a winged creature! I love bumble bees. I fell in love with this chubby little chap as soon as I saw the Dragonfly dreams stamp set.

Dragonfly Dreams Bee Card

Isn’t the bee beeautiful?  I stamped onto watercolour paper which was cut out with our stitched framelit dies (which are still available but not in a catalogue, click the link in the items used at the bottom of this post if you wish to order) which I love as you get three shapes of dies in 3 sizes for each shape and 12 dies in total.

I then coloured with our marker pens and a blender pen and outlined him with a sahara sand marker.  The card base is made from Kraft cardstock and I stamped the bee in black ink.  It looks so striking on the kraft background.

I then finished it off with our gorgeous burlap ribbon and linen thread.

We would love you to play along this week at the Global Design Project and made something using the challenge outlined below.  Pop on over to the Global Design Project to see what the other design team members have made and also see the instructions on how to play along.

Dragonfly Dreams – Bumble Bee Cards

Dragonfly Dreams is a beautiful stamp set but its not all about dragonflies!  There is one cute chubby little bumble bee image in there too and the sentiments are lovely!

Dragonfly Dreams Bee Happy

I made this super simply card using our bundle bee stamp and cut it out and lightly coloured the wings with grey ink and the body with crushed curry and a blender pen.   A little line of dots and a cute sentiment was all that was needed to finish this simple card off,

Our little bee friend is raised on a dimensional.

If you would like our bumble bee in your life then simply click the image below for the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set to add him to your shopping basket and be sure to add the monthly hostess code to receive a free thank you gift from me.

Dragonfly Dreams from Stampin’ Up

I am sharing a card with you today using the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set which is a new set from the Spring/Summer Seasonal Catalogue.

Dragonfly Dreams Sparkly Stampin Up

I added a touch of sparkle by adding versarmark to the dotty stamp and sprinkling heat and stick powder so that it sticks to the versamark ink.  Heat & Stick powder is basically fine powdered glue so once set with a heat tool it melts and when you quickly sprinkle the dazzling diamonds glitter into the heat & stick powder is sticks to the melted glue.

I coloured the beautiful dragonfly wings with an aqua painter and added the greeting from the same stamp set to finish it off!

The outside dots are stamped with mint macaron ink and the outline of the dragonfly is stamped in Stazon so that when I coloured the wings the outline did not bleed.

All the items I used are shown below, click any of the images to go to my online shop to place your own order and don’t forget to use the hostess code to receive a free thank you gift from me.

If you spend £45 you can also choose a free item from our sale-a-bration leaflet (more info about sale-a-bration here).

I am here to help, if you need me please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Everyone needs a little chicken on a Friday and what could be cuter than the Hey Chick stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Hey Chick from Stampin Up

Our beautiful little chicken is free with an order of £45.  Yes you hear me right, FREE!

For every £45 you spend during Sale-a-bration (which runs till the end of March) you can choose a free item from the sale-a-bration booklet, there are 12 free items to choose from but I think this one is my favourite!

I coloured the chicken on watercolour paper using aqua painters and blender pens and the cut background is stamped using a stamp from Playful Backgrounds which is a really useful set to have in your stash.

I am sure we can all think of a special ‘chick’ in our lives who deserves a handmade card!

Guess what the thank you card was for orders in December, the card shown above along with an adhesive remover and a whole pack of the foam adhesive strips for adding dimension or making shaker cards.  The thank you gift is from me and the sale-a-bration item is a gift from Stampin Up when you order £45+ worth of products.
