Butterflies Thinlits from Stampin’ Up!

This week at the Global Design Project we are casing the designer Tanja Solar from Germany.  I have used the Butterflies Thinlits Dies as Tanja using the dragonfly in her beautiful card.    You must pop over to take a look at her lovely blog as she is super talented.  We are currently both in Thailand enjoying the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip together 🙂

Watercolor Wings from Stampin' Up! case of Tanja Kolar

I kept my card pretty simple this week and added lots of layers and textures.

How I made my Card
  • I cut a rectangle from the Foil Frenzy Speciality DSP and die cut the detailed butterfly using the Butterfly Thinlits.
  • I punched a piece of Pool Party card with the Ticket Tear Border Punch and layered it underneath the foil frenzy rectangle.
  • I cut a length of Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon and glued and stapled it to the foil frenzy rectangle.
  • I stamped a greeting from the Watercolor Wings stamp set onto white cardstock in black ink and cut into a rectangle.
  • I die cut a fancy strip from the Flourish Thinlits in Island Indigo cardstock.
  • Everything was layered up onto my whisper white card base.
  • I then added glue to the body of the butterfly and secured it into the die cut space to hold it to the card but left the wings to move freely.
  • A few rhinestones and it was complete.

Here is the lovely card we are casing this week from Tanja Kolar.

Sympathy Card using Flourish Thinlits from Stampin Up

I made a lovely simple sympathy card using (guess what?) Copper foil sheets, I cannot seem to stop using them!

I die cut the flourish using the Flourish Thinlits and the Affectionately Yours designer series paper and then cut some flowers from the copper foil.

I stamped the sentiment in copper embossing powder onto vellum and laid it over our doilies and wrapped some linen thread.

So delicate and pretty which catches the light beautifully.

All the supplies I used to make this card are available from Stampin’ Up! and are available from my online shop.  Click the items below to go to my shop and place your order.

Foxy Friends from Stampin’ Up!

I have a lovely touch of copper for you and a cute little fox from Foxy Friends.  Today I am flying off to Amsterdam to enjoy the Stampin Up OnStage event with lots of lovely demos which means I will have lots to share with you next week 😉

I went a bit mad with copper and used the gorgeous copper foil sheets from Affectionately Yours design series paper and die cut the beautiful flourish thinlits shape and backed it with the copper foil sheet.

I stamped the cute little fox onto whisper white and die cut him out making sure not to cut his tail off!

I even backed the fox with a copper scallop circle.

Overall pretty darn coppery!

Quick and simple and ready for your chosen sentiment.

Team Challenge – Stampin’ Up! Die Cut Flowers

I recently set a challenge to my team of Stampin Up Demonstrators to make a project using our range of die cut flowers.

We have so many lovely dies to use featuring flowers as shown below –

Die Cut Flower Challenge

I wanted to make something using the new Flourishing Phrases Stamp set and matching Flourish Thinlits….

Flourish Thinlits from Stampin Up

I made a simple bereavement card and stamped the background with leaves in Smoky Slate Ink.  I wrapped a piece of vellum around the card and stamped ‘With Sympathy’.  I adore the circle/flower border die cut and added that with a handmade flower using the Flourish Thinlits.  I die cut two flowers and sandwiched a layer of vellum between the two die cuts.  I added another smaller die cut flower and finished it off with a (retired) sparkly accent.

Butterfly Basics from Stampin’ Up! #GDP44

This weeks challenge over at the Global Design Project  is to case the designer and the designer is Steffi Helmschrott from Germany. Steffi has the most beautiful style and is also an Artisan Design team member for Stampin Up. That means she is on a team of fantastically talented crafters who make projects using Stampin Up supplies which the company use to share and promote its product range. Only one or two people to be Artisans from each country so its quite an accolade and also quite intimidating to case someone so talented.

But here is my entry using the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the Butterfly Thinlits.

Butterfly Basics #GDP44

I used the fluttering embossing folder to create the embossed butterfly background.  I stamped a panel of very vanilla cardstock with stamps from the Butterfly basics stamp set in black in so that they were visible through the medium butterfly die cut from Butterfly thinlits.

I then stuck the intricate die cut butterfly in the centre across its body so that the wings were raised and show the stamping below.

It needed a pop of very vanilla along the edges so I added a strip of the border from the new Flourish Thinlits.  I used the sentiment from Weather Together and the new punch called Classic Label.

Here is Steffi’s card which you have to case this week…#GDP44 Case the designer Steffi Helmschrott
