Birthday Blooms & Hexagons Embossing Folder

This week at the Global Design Project we are casing the designer and guess what the designer is ME!  It is a bit strange casing yourself but it was easier that I thought.

Birthday Blooms & Hexagons & Embossing Folder

How I created my card

I embossed the background using the Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder which gives a really deep emboss to the whisper white card.  I mounted the white onto silver foil to pick up the heat embossed greeting.

Can you see the subtle sparkle on the flower?  I used my Wink of Stella.

I used the layering circles framelits to create a focal point to add the beautiful flower from Birthday Blooms which I coloured using the Calypso Coral and Old Olive Watercolour pencils and an Aqua Painter.

Birthday Blooms for #GDP084

I stamped the flower from Birthday Blooms using Basic Grey Archival Ink from Stampin Up and cut around the coloured image.

The scallop circle frame was raised with foam adhesive strips and the friend word is from the Oh Happy Day card kit stamps.  Here is the card we all have to case this week, why don’t you join us and make something casing my card below?  You can case any element, the design, colour scheme, products used it is up to you, I would love to see what you come up with.

Stampin’ Up! OnStage Swaps & Gifts

Happy Easter to all my friends and blog readers.

I have recently returned from Stampin’ Up! OnStage in Amsterdam.  Demonstrators gather together every 6 months to share new catalogues and products, celebrate and swaps.  At these wonderful fun events we meet with team and I get the chance to spoil my team members.

Swaps

We give out ‘swaps’ which are card samples.  We make as many as we wish all in the same design (because its easier to make lots of the same design) and swap them at the event with other demos.  So that means I arrive with lots of the same card and come home with loads and loads of card ideas and samples in different designs and varying stamp sets. I will be sharing a Facebook live on my business page in the coming week showing you all the goodies and swaps I received so be sure to have liked my page to see the live or watch it back at your leisure

My sister Carolyn is my stamping helper and she helped me make 160 of these swaps as I also used these cards for my thank you gifts to anyone placing an online order with me in March 🙂

Birthday Blossoms from Stampin Up

I used the Birthday Blooms stamp set which you may have overlooked in the annual catalogue on page 13. I was inspired by Erum Jasmeem.  I used the gorgeous grunge stamp set which has been retired and has already sold out but the splatter stamp in Touches of Texture would work just as well and the hello lovely stamp is from the Hello Lovely Project Life Accessory pack (page 163).

I added some sequins in the centre of the flowers which really sparkle, shame the photos does not do it justice.

As I mentioned I continued the theme for my thank you cards and gifts for anyone placing an online order with me in March.  These have been posted out (on Tuesday) so I feel I can finally share the surprise gift that everyone will receive this month.

I sent an archival gray ink pad and a 6×6″ silver and gold foil sheets and some whisper white envelopes.  I really do appreciate everyone who supports me and my business 🙂

I give a little something to my team members who attend OnStage and have a swap and a little bag with a pack of lace doilies and a handmade reminder of the Statement of the Heart which is Stampin’ Up’s mission statement.

Team Swaps & Gifts OnStage Stampin Up

I am so lucky to have a large team and it was so nice to get a hug and share the OnStage experience with them.

I was a little laden down with bags though on the first day!  It is no wonder I suffer with a bad back!

Team Swaps for OnStage Stampin Up

And finally some of my team give me presents and I am so thankful for their kindness and generosity that I took along a little supply of Easter treats to give out to my extended team in return for their lovely gifts.

Easter Bunnies from Stampin Up

Am gutted that this little bunny from Basket Bunch has now sold out.  It proves you need to be quick and snap up your favourites from the catalogue.  There are still lots of favourites left so check out the retiring list by clicking the image on the right hand side to go direct to my shop and see the lists or click the link to my retiring list blog post to download a pdf or excel spreadsheet.

Here are the supplies I used to make my swap, click any of the image below to go direct to that item in my shop and don’t forget to add the monthly hostess code if you place an online order for £20+ (and less than £150) to receive a free thank you gift from me.

Be sure to come back on Sunday when I share more of the gifts I made for my teamies from OnStage

Hey Chick stamps free during Sale-a-bration

Thanks for popping by today.  I am sharing a card I made for a colour challenge with the Global Design Project using the Hey Chick stamp set which is free during our amazing offer Sale-a-bration.

Hey Chick free during Sale-a-bration

Love this crazy looking chicken and I created the chick wire back ground by using our Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder and Inking one side of the folder with black ink so that it stamped and embossed the design in swipe through the big shot.

I then punched out a circle of cardstock and then cut into the circle to create the opening for the chicken.

Hey chick free during saleabration

I then grunged up the edges and inked the edges with a sponge and the Basic Grey Ink.  The chicken itself was stamped on whisper white and coloured using our wonderful watercolour pencils and a blender pen.

As I mentioned this week at the Global Design Project it is a colour challenge and these are the colours you can use to make your own project and share with us to be in with a chance of being the weekly winner and being a guest designer.

Christmas Card in this week Colour Challenge

This week at the Global Design Project we are sharing a colour challenge and we would like you to participate as the winner gets to be a guest stamper on the next Colour Challenge.  I decided to make a Christmas card but when you see the colours you will see that they are not the normal colour choices for Christmas!

Christmas Card using Stampin up supplies

I went plain and simple this tim so that the colours really stood out and embossed the sentiment and added the Gold Foil as a layer so that it would show where the die cut holly leaves we cut.

Even though the colours are not an obvious choice I think the rich regal tones really lend themselves well to Christmas, don’t you?

#GDP053

As I already mentioned we would love you to take part this week and the winner will be given a guest spot on the design team for the next colour challenge!

Note Card Box using Touches of Texture

I saw this little notecard box on Pinterest made by a French Stampin Up Demonstrator called Elodie and knew that I wanted to try making one for myself. I used Touches of Texture to make the notecards and I followed the instructions in the link above.  They are in French but with lots of photos so easy to understand even if you don’t speak French.
When I made the notecard box I was surprised how little it was, its really cute and would be perfect for business cards or really small notes/tags.

Touches of Texture Notecard Box

I used the gold polka dot paper from the Pop of Pink Speciality design series paper and gold foil to make the bow using the Bow Builder Punch.

To make the notecards to fit inside the box I simply cut our notecards in half and they fit perfectly.  If you wanted to make your own envelope you could use the envelope punch board.

I then decided to step it up and make a larger size using the maximum measurements possible with an A4 sheet.  This larger one fits a full size Stampin Up notecard.  I used mint macaroon cardstock and Moroccan Designer Series Paper.

Touches of Texture Notecards & Box

Here is a close up of the notecards.  I used scraps of coordinating cardstock and washi tape to tie in the notecards with the box.  The Touches of Texture stamp set is just lovely.

Touches of Texture Notecard

To show you the size difference I have lined up a regular C5 sized card and both notecards boxes and their contents.

Notecard Box in varying sizes

If you want to go straight to the measurements and tutorial, follow this link to DjudiScraps beautiful instructions.

If you would like to purchase any of the items I used to make these boxes and notecards simply click the images below.  If ordering via my online shop please use the monthly hostess code to receive a free thank you gift (only if your order is £20+ and less than £150).  I am still sending out the FREE Jar of Love tutorial to anyone ordering with me in August so don’t miss out!
