Father’s Day – Nailed It from Stampin’ Up!

I have a cute little Fathers Day project to share with you using the Nailed It stamp set and a sneak peek of the Wood Crate Framelits coming in the new catalogue on 1st June.

Nailed It and Wood crate from Stampin up

I presented a product spotlight at the recent Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in Amsterdam and shared the wonderful new Wooden Crate framelit dies.
I cut out the crate and stamped it with the hardwood background stamp and sponged the edges to give it some dimension.

I cut off the base of the crate and added two horizontal inserts inside the box so that the box can fold flat and it is also somewhere for the tools to stick to to keep them in place inside the crate.

I stamped and handcut the tools from the Nailed it stamp set.  This set is still available in our retiring product sale as it won’t be carried over although the matching framelits are no longer available which is a shame but I did not own the framelits so I simply hand cut the shapes out.

I shredded some burlap ribbon and stuck clumps inside the crate to add more texture and hide the inserts.

The greeting ‘You’re the best’ is from the Urban District stamp set which is retiring but still available, not for long I suspect so don’t wait around to get your order in.

Don’t forget we have the Eastern Palace Suite available as an early release.

There are so many options using these stamps and dies and using the new InColours and heavy weight very vanilla cardstock too! Click the image below of any of the supplies shared below as they will take you direct to my shop.

Jolly Friends from Stampin Up for #GDP052

This week we are casing the designer Teneale Williams!  That is quite a task as Teneale makes BEAUTIFUL things, she is an Artisan Design Team member and uber talented!  Check out Teneale’s blog here, you won’t be disappointed!  I used her beautiful card as a sketch and incorporated the new Jolly Friends stamp set on my card.

Jolly Friends from Stampin Up #GDP052

There is lots of texture on this card, I just adore the new cable knit embossing folder, it gives such a deep embossed finish.  I had some stamped and inked hardwood cardstock left over from this baby card from the Global Design Project challenge so I decided to use it on this card.

There are lots of jolly characters in the Jolly Friends stamp set including a moose! You can interchange the hats, scarves and make them your own and of course there is a matching builder punch too.

Here is the card we have to case, why not join in this week too and case Teneale’s card?

#GDP052Pop on over to the Global Design Project to add your card and be in with a chance of being selected as one of the 3 talented winners and whilst you are there, take a look at what the other talented designers have created.

Here are the products I used to create this card, click any of the images to pop on over to my online shop to place an order.  Don’t forget to use the monthly hostess code if your order is £20+ (and less than £150) to receive a free thank you gift from me.

Baby Bear Card for Global Design Project

I have been crafting like a demon!  It’s a busy time in our house at the moment.  Our lovely daughter Amy has passed her A’levels and got her University place in Nottingham and today it’s her 18th Birthday!  We have had a busy weekend of celebrating and lots of our family will be arriving to celebrate later today so I needed to get ahead.

This week Global Design Project challenge is a sketch challenge and I wanted to try and make a cute bear from the Fox Builder Punch.  I made the little baby bear which I adore and was first inspired when I saw Margriet’s card here.  I could not decide what the background I should use and then I had a brainwave!  How about a little fence with the bear peeking over?

Baby Bear using Foxy Friends from Stampin Up

I had so much fun making this fence using the Hardwood Stamp.  I stamped onto very vanilla cardstock in soft suede ink.  I then scored the lines to enhance the panels and then inked each panel with more soft suede ink.

The light was bad as its been raining all day so my photo isn’t great but I also used a sponge brayer to create the mottled blue sky.

I finished off with two little paws otherwise he would struggle to balance on top of the fence?

Here is the sketch….

Barnyard Babies for Global Design Project GDP#007

This weeks Global Design Project is a theme challenge.  We have been challenged to make something with a farm theme.  I automatically reached for the Barnyard Babies stamp set as I am sure most of the other design team members did also!  And here is what I came up with –

Barnyard Babies for GDP#007

All the animals are just so adorable I could not choose which ones to use so I used them all, you may be thinking, not all, where are the little duckies?

Barnyard Babies for GDP#007

I used a mixture of an aqua painter and the dye ink and the Stampin Write Markers to colour my images and a dauber to create the background.

Barnyard Babies for GDP#007

I did a fancy piece of die cutting as I had to cut out the two heads before I cut the oval and of course the stamp-a-majig was necessary to make sure that I lined all the animals up correctly.  Finally I used the sentiment from Sprinkles of Life and the Hardwood Background stamp to create the fantastic wood background to look like barn doors.

We would absolutely love you to join us this week and make a card with the farm theme.  All entries need to be added to the Global Design Project Challenge Blog by Saturday and three winners will be selected at the end of the challenge.

#GDP007

Make sure you pop over to the Global Design Team Challenge Blog to see what all the other team members made with the same theme, which one is your favourite?

Big Day Easel-card by Michelle Last

I heat embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder which made the sentiment pop!
Big Day Chalkboard Card

I added a sentiment inside and the cake and candle in the background of the sentiment.

You won’t recognise the paper I used for the bunting either, it’s just lovely and I cannot wait to share more projects I have made with this paper stack.

I used the good old Hardwood background stamp to create the wood effect, added some inking and some dry embossing to make the easel look realistic and tied some linen thread bows to finish off the bunting.
