Hug in a Mug from Stampin’ Up!

Who likes hot chocolate?  Then I have the perfect stamp set for you!  Hug in a Mug from Stampin’ Up! is a really cute and you can make up your mug with different elements to personalise it.

Hug in a Mug From Stampin' Up!

I stamped the mug onto watercolour paper using StazOn so that I could watercolour the mug and add detail using the cute little stamps in this set to customise your mug.  I also used the stitched shape framelits to cut a circle around my stamped image and then sponged the edges using Blushing Bride Ink.

I used my aqua painter to add the base of the mug to ground it rather than leave it floating.

The gorgeous scallop circle framelits were used to cut a Smoky Slate Mount. I just love the pink and grey colour combo.

I punched a hole and tied the tag to a treat tube which was filled with hot chocolate powder.  Those treat tubes are so versatile and can be used for so many things.

Team Gifts for Stampin Up OnStage

I hope you are having a wonderful Easter weekend.

I promised I would be back with more gifts which I shared with my team at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in Amsterdam.

I had a gift for my direct team members who went to the OnStage event.  I was given this bag by one of my friends and team members Nicole and it planted a little seed at what a lovely gift this would be to share with my team.

I purchased the initial bags from Next and then added sweeties, pens and highlighter as we were to receive a copy of the brand new Annual catalogue whilst at the event.

Statement of the Heart from Stampin Up

I included a swap inside the bag and also handmade a magnetic closure bookmark for their new catalogue which had the Stampin Up Statement of the Heart on it.

Statement of the Heart from Stampin Up

It is such a lovely reminder as to why we do what we do and perfectly represents Stampin’ Up!

I used the layering squares framelits and a little heart from the Enamel Shapes.

I also organised a team dinner at a very swanky restaurant near the conference centre call The Roast Room.

I wanted to create a table plan and rather than make name plates for each place I decided I would make a frame with a personalised quote for each person unique to them.

I slipped them inside the little glassine gift bags and cello bags and made a matching tag and added their names.

Birthday Blossoms Gift Tags from Stampin Up

I had a real near miss as I had two Lisa’s at the dinner and realised shortly before they looked at their gift that I had them the wrong way round!  It was seriously a close shave when you know that one of the frames quoted
‘If anyone breaks your heart, punch them in the face, seriously punch them in the face and go get ice cream’.

We had a lovely evening and got to hang out and meet our fellow US demo’s Janet Wakeland, Lisa Pretto and Georgia Giguere who had travelled from the US to enjoy OnStage in Amsterdam.

Pinkies Team Dinner in Amsterdam

And finally we had a celebratory event held by Stampin Up at a local hotel which included a Michelin * dinner and dancing along with a lovely gift of a new stamp set and apron.

Centrestage Dinner at OnStage Amsterdam

I gave a gift to those who attended, they work hard to reach the title of Silver Elite to be invited and I wanted to know I really do appreciate them.  Inside these gift bags were some planner goodies as we are all planner geeks.

And finally we managed to organise a team photo, nearly everyone made the photo and I really enjoy working alongside all these wonderful ladies from across Europe.Pinkies Team Photo with Michelle Last

Easter Project for the Creative Hearts Blog Hop

Creative Hearts Blog Hop Spring Jitters

Thank you Caroline and the Creative Hearts for asking me to join you on this fun Spring themed blog hop.  I decided to play along using an Easter theme.  I have been dying to use the Mini Egg Cartons from Stampin Up and they team up perfectly with the Basket Bunch Bundle.  I can see so much potential with this cute Basket Bunch Set and matching Basket Builder Framelits and not only for Easter.

Basket Builder Framelits from Stampin Up

I created the flower basket and filled it with daffodils and flowers.  I added it to a stitched square framelit and backed it with a scallop square from the layering square framelits.Mini Egg Cartons from Stampin Up

I then coloured my mini egg carton with a spray bottle, rubbing alcohol and a good few drops of Mint Macaron Ink.  As I used rubbing alcohol the carton dried pretty quickly.  I then added some chocolate eggs (from M&S which fit perfectly) and wrapped a belly band around the carton using the Neutrals Designer Series paper pack.

Basket Bunch Easter Treat from Stampin Up

I wrapped some striped ribbon in mint macaron around the belly band and adhered the stamped panel over the top.

Some of the enamel dots were perfect flower centres and a little mint macaron sheer linen ribbon and a vellum sentiment finished it off perfectly.

I would recommend you snap these mini egg cartons up quickly as they are sure to be popular.  All the supplies I have used to create this project are available to buy via my stampin up shop.  Simply click any of the images at the bottom of my post to go direct to my shop and place you order 24/7.

Best Birds from Stampin’ Up!

It was my technique class on Monday and we made three cards using the Best Birds Stamp set and matching dies from Stampin’ Up!

Best Birds from Stampin Up

I made a little robin, not sure how accurate he is but at least he is recognisable 🙂  The Best Birds really is a versatile stamp set which can be used for so many occasions.  If you also purchase the matching framelits dies, Birds & Blooms Thinlits you can cut our the images with ease and even use the relief.

I embossed the background with the woodland embossing folder (a must have for every crafter) onto whisper white cardstock.  I then the ever so useful layering square framelits to create a scallop frame and also a background to stamp my sentiment on.

I stamped and coloured the bird, branch and flowers and then cut them out using the birds and blooms thinlits and attached them to the frame.

I used a variety of colouring techniques but I was using regular whisper white cardstock so I made sure not to over wet the cardstock as it can pill or ball.  I coloured the bird mainly using aqua painters and real red, chocolate chip and crumb cake ink.

Such a sweet little bird, more birds tomorrow to inspire you so be sure to check back…

You’re Sublime for Global Design Project #GDP047

This weeks challenge from the Global Design Project is a Nautical theme!  I knew I did not own any of the usual sets which would fit this theme and I have to admit that I googled the definition of Nautical as I wasn’t sure if I could use the goldfish stamp from Jar of Love or if I was pushing the meaning slightly….turns out I was so I went with submarines instead!  Random!

You're Sublime from Stampin Up #GDP047

I made is into a shaker card which is super easy with the new foam adhesive strips.  I had to use the new layering squares framelits (coz I love them!) and the backing paper was perfect from the By the Shore designer series paper.   Pretty sure you will be seeing that again and again in this weeks challenge!

So its time to pop on over to see what the other design team members have made using the Nautical theme.  Go to Global Design Project to see ideas and also how to add your own entry, we would love you to join in!
