Beautiful Bouquet from Stampin’ Up!

Look at the beautiful array of flowers in the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!  It pairs beautifully with the Jar of Love stamp set which I wanted to use as we are casing Steffi Helmschrott at the Global Design Project this week.

Beautiful Bouquet from Stampin Up

I really enjoyed stamping and die cutting several of the flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet set and then arranging them in the jar from Jar of Love.  I stamped the jar with versa mark and heat embossed it in white embossing powder and heat set it in vellum which was over laid onto a stamped grey jar to add a little dimension.

It meant I could also tie a bow around the top of the jar and secure it in place.

I stamped the greeting using a berry burst marker and a base grey marker and used the Berry Burst to pick out the words picked and friend.

I added a hand drawn line around the edge and a little strip of patterned paper to add some interest.

We are casing Steffi Helmschrott from Germany this week at the Global Design Project.

Steffi is super talented and a past Artisan Design Team member, I’d really recommend you pop over to her blog and take a look at her designs.  This is her card we are to case for this weeks challenge….#GDP092 casing Steffi Helmschrott

Weather Together from Stampin’ Up!

I made this cute card using the Weather Together stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  I had seen several of a similar style on Pinterest and decided to make one of my own for a private class I am holding tonight.

If you are local to me (within and hour or two) you can gather together a group of friends and we can stamp together.  We make 3 cards (one of the ones we are doing tonight is shown below) and all supplies are included.  Each person pays £15 but if you prefer you can order Stampin’ Up! goods of £25+ and you can get your class for FREE!

I will be sharing the other two cards we are making in the coming days.  So if you would love to gather together with your friends please get in touch as I would to craft with you and your friends.

Technique 101 – Using Stampin’ Write Markers

Techniques 101 Monthly Blog Hop

This month I am sharing a simple card using the Stampin’ Write Markers.  The Stampin’ Write markers are dual tipped marker pens in the Stampin’ Up! colours which are filled with dye inks so they are perfectly suited to colouring your rubber stamps and stamping onto card.  Dye inks are fast drying (so no smudging) and when colouring onto a stamp they can dry before you get a chance to stamp but don’t worry that is easily solved by re-moistening the stamp by breathing a deep exhalation on the stamp before pressing onto your card.

Technique 101 - Marker Pens from Stampin Up using Endless Thanks

I have used the photopolymer stamp set called Endless Thanks and used 3 colours of marker pens, Melon Mambo and Old Olive (both from the brights collection) and the Basic Black marker which is available to purchase on its own.

Every marker has a dual top, a fine tip for journaling and a thick tip for colouring.  You can colour the stamps, re-moisten with your breath and stamp or colour in your images directly onto the card.  It means you do not need to invest in all the colour ink pads right away but instead invest in a set of markers or the whole set of markers and know that you have a good range of Stampin’ Up! colours to be working with.

I simply coloured each stamp with the thick brush tip of the marker, re-moistened with my breath and stamped.  If you look at the marker pen there is a tick line next to the thick tip and a thin line next to the thin tip.  I added two strips of washi tape in matching colours and stamped an array of flowers, leaves and hearts.  I then stamped the banner and added my chosen sentiment and cut around it.  I stuck the banner down with dimensionals so that it gave the card some dimension.

And guess what?  If you image doesn’t stamp perfectly, you can simply use the marker pen to colour any missed areas – genius!
