Hearts Come Home Bundle from Stampin’ Up!

I am sharing this beautiful snowy Christmas scene with you today made using the Hearts Come Home Bundle in the new Autumn/Winter seasonal catalogue.

This week at the Global Design Project we are casing the super talented, hugely funny and well just simply huge hearted Brian King, a fellow demo based in the US.  Brian works full time but still manages to have a very successful Stampin Up business whilst making the most adorable cards, pop over to his blog to see more of his work….

Hearts Come Home Bundle

These dies are to die for, seriously there are so many possibilities with the Hometown Greetings Edgelit dies but when paired with the coordinating stamp set Hearts Come Home it takes it to another level.

I have completely fallen in love with the mixed fonts used and the little houses and santa on his sleigh, just stunning!

I am using this bundle in my upcoming October technique class and have 3 very different cards to create using this one bundle.  Pop to this sneak peek in the class post to see more ideas.

How I created this card
  • I cut the buildings in whisper white using the precision base plate as there are lots of intricate cut outs and if you want them to pop out easy then I’d definitely recommend the precision base place.
  • I embossed the card front with the softly falling embossing folder.
  • The mat for the front of the card measures 11.5 x 8.5cm (silver glimmer paper) the whisper white layer is 8 x 11cm.
  • Line up your die cuts to that they are overlapping but not cutting out too much detail and then trim to 8x11cm
  • Stamp your chosen sentiment in the white space at the base of the card.
  • Add tiny dimensionals to layer the die cuts to give them dimension and add a sparkly heart.

I allowed the church spire to overlap the top of the card but be sure to check the card will fit an envelope otherwise you could trim it down a little.

Here is the card of Brian’s that we are casing this week, why not join us this week and share your entry over at the Global Design Project?  Let’s go and see what the other design team members have made using Brian’s card as inspiration…

#GDP030 Endless Thanks from Stampin Up

Today’s card was made for the Global Design Project #GDP030 and I used one of my favourite stamp sets Endless Thanks which is available from Stampin Up! It is such a low priced stamp set with images and greetings and perfect for a new stamper.

Endless Thanks using #GDP030

I stamped the panel with the lovely flower using three colours of ink – Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry and Wisteria Wonder.  The background card base is Smoky Slate which I embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing folder.

#GDP013 colour challenge

So here my offering this week…..

#GDP013 Global Design Project Colour Challenge

It has been a while since I have used my lovely White Christmas stamp set from the annual catalogue and I knew I wanted to make some holly.

#GDP013 Global Design Project Colour Challenge

I used the sentiment from Reason for the Season and made some holly with the oval punch and the 1/2″ circle punch. I also embossed the softly falling embossing folder on the back ground, can you see my mistake, I embossed the cardstock upside down so that my snowflakes are not raised but sunken 🙂  I thought it looked pretty cool so left it rather than re-stamping the background again!

I also had my sewing machine out as I was make some napkins from some tea towels so I sewed around the edge of the white cardstock.

And I managed to get a little gloss on the holly buy painting a thin layer of crystal effects on them.  I thought it made it look more like holly and lastly the berries are from the seasonal catalogue.

I bet you cannot wait to see what all the other designers have made this week with this colour palette so why don’t you pop on over to the Global Design Challenge Blog to take a look.…..

If you wish to purchase any of the items I used to make this card, simply click any of the images below to go direct to my online shop and don’t forget to add this months hostess code if you order is £20+ or less then £150. Have a great week everyone x

Embossed Snowflake Christmas for Global Design Project GDP#008

This weeks challenge is to case the designer.  Kylie inspired us with her beautiful card and you will be dumb founded by the different interpretations of the sketch this week!

Flurry of Wishes Snowflake GDP#008

I decided to use a bit of sparkle this week, I’m not normally a glitter girl but I stepped outside of my comfort zone.  I had a vision in my head of how I wanted this card to look and it didn’t turn out as expected at all!  I like it though and I especially like the white and glittery snowflakes….

Flurry of Wishes Snowflake GDP#008

I added the glitter to my cardstock withe the 2-way glue pen and the dazzling diamonds glitter and embossed the circle with the softly falling embossing folder.  Embossing on vellum gives a real snow effect!

Do you fancy playing along?  Here is the card you are to CASE this week by Kylie from the Global Design Project.

Global Design Project GDP#008Are you wondering where the white and glittery snowflakes are in the catalogue?  They are called Snowflake Elements and are on page 23 of the seasonal catalogue.  They are in wood and are last cut so be gentle with them.

I simply embossed them in white and added the glitter. Here is a quick video to show you how I did that…

If you would like to order any of the supplies I used to make this card, just click the images below to go direct to my online shop and place your order.   Don’t forget to add the hostess code to get a free thank you gift from me x
