Beautiful Day from Stampin’ Up!

Who doesn’t love a butterfly?  I have used the Beautiful Day stamp set to create this Birthday card and focused on the butterfly image from the Beautiful Day stamp set.
Beautiful Day from Stampin' Up!

I chose a muted colour palette and although it is hard to see I heat embossed the birthday greeting in silver embossing powder.

How I made the Beautiful Day card

  • The Smoky Slate card front size measures 16.5cm x 9.8cm
  • The Whisper White Layer on the front meaures 15.5cm x 8.5cm
  • I stamped the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set in Grey Memento Ink
  • The butterflies were coloured with Pink Pirouette Light and Dark Blends with a touch of Calypso Light Blends
  • The three circles are in the Beautiful Day set and I stamped them randomly in Smoky Slate Ink
  • The edge of the Whisper White card has been sponged in smoky slate ink
  • The Whisper White panel is raised up with dimensionals and I added some bling with rhinestones

I love how soft and muted it turned out.  All the supplies I used to make this card are shared below.  If you would like to order Stampin’ Up! products you can click my order online button on the top right of this blog and go direct to my Stampin’ Up! shop.  If you spend £20+ please use the monthly hostess code to receive a free thank you gift (please do not add the code if your order is £150+).

Bird Banter from Stampin’ Up!

Bird Banter is the cutest stamp set.  Budgies remind me of my Grandma and I simply fell in with this set as soon as I saw it.
I think the greetings are funny too!

Bird Banter from Stampin' Up!

Each bird from the Bird Banter set is stamped and coloured using the Stampin’ Blends and then cut out and a thin layer of fine tip glue (or crystal effects) added to make the birds shine.  The fine tip glue should be left over night before adding to the notecards.

I used a post it note when stamping the feet of the birds as I did not want to stamp the body of the bird to the front as I added the coloured and cut out bird using dimensionals.

Bird Banter from Stampin' Up!

Which one is your favourite?  I think the budgies are mine 🙂
Bird Banter from Stampin' Up!

Bird Banter is great value at only £15 for 19 photopolymer stamps which make it super easy for stamp placement and some of the greetings have a coordinating stamp set for the inside of the card.  My favourite one is

‘A little birdie told me it was your birthday’  and for the inside ‘Obviously, it wasn’t an early bird’

If you would like to order this stamp set, all the items are available via my online shop.  Simply click any of the images below to go direct to that item in my online shop.  Please add the monthly hostess code when spending £20+ and remember that if you spend £45+ you can choose a free sale-a-bration item (offer runs till the end of March).  All details and links to a pdf brochure are shared on the right hand side of please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or need help.

New Home stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

I have a new home card to share with you using the Flying Home stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Flying Home from Stampin Up

When I saw this cute bird and babies in a nest I thought of ‘flying the nest’ so I felt it lends itself to a new home card.

I used the greetings from the Home Life stamp set which were perfect.

Here is how I made the card

  • Stamp the bird and nest onto whisper white in Black Memento Ink.
  • Colour the image with Stampin’ Blends (not shown in the photo below).
  • Punch out a circle using the 2″ circle punch and with the relief I framed the image but left some of the stamp overhanging the outside of the circle and drew a pencil line.
  • Cut around the over hanging parts of the image with scissors.
  • Position the image into the punch and made sure to have the overhang inside the base of the punch so it was not cut off.
  • Simply rub out the pencil line and mount onto a scallop circle from the layering circle framelits and a large smoky slate circle.

Flying Home from Stampin Up

The cloud background was created with the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Smoky Slate and Soft Sky Ink and a sponge.

The greeting from the Home Life stamp set was stamped on Basic Grey ink and I used my new stamparatus to position the greeting perfectly!  It is amazing, I cannot wait for you to get your hands on one!

Flying Home from Stampin Up made by Michelle

Lots of Lavender FREE from Stampin’ Up!

I have a beautiful card to share with you using the Lots of Lavender Stamp set which is FREE when you place an order for £45+ from my online shop.

Lots of Lavender FREE from Stampin' Up!

I stamped the beautiful lavender stamp in Black Memento Ink and coloured it using the Stampin’ Blends.  I found a circle die and drew a pencil line so that some of the flower and stems would be outside the die cut shape.  I cut around the protruding pieces so that they would not be cut by the die.

I really wanted to add some dimension and texture on this card so I stamped and hand cut some more of the lavender foliage and fussy cut around it and raised it up with dimensionals.

A Linen thread bow adds some more texture.

Here are the Stampin’ Blends colours I used –

  • Pink Pirouette Dark
  • Rich Razzleberry Dark
  • Rich Razzleberry Light
  • Old Olive Light
  • Old Olive Dark

Lots of Lavender FREE from Stampin' Up

The amazing die cut word is from the Celebrate You Thinlit Dies cut in Basic Grey cardstock, which are also free during saleabration if you spend £90.  The word YOU and ARE SIMPLY are from the matching stamp set called Amazing You also free during saleabration with a £45 spend.

There are lots of lovely free items to get your hands on till the end of March, details of this fantastic promotion are shared in the Saleabration brochure on the right which will open as a pdf.

The embossing folder I used is called Quilt Top, isn’t it beautiful?

If you would like to place an order, click the order online button on the top right of my blog.  If you spend more than £20+ please use the monthly hostess code to receive a free thank you gift from me.  For every £45 you spend during saleabration you can choose a free item (does not include postage) and if your order is £150+ please do not use the monthly hostess code as you will receive stampin’ rewards to spend (which is money to spend on any Stampin’ Up! goods of your choice) and I will send a thank you gift as I really appreciate your custom.
