13-16 November at the NEC in Birmingham, Stampin' Up will have a stand at the Hobbycrafts Exhibition. I am helping out on the stand and would love to meet you. There will be lots of ideas and inspiration as well as some great make and takes.
Here is one of the cards I made for the sample board at the stand. It is made using a technique called emboss resist. If you stamp your image in versarmark and then liberally sprinkle clear embossing powder it will only stick to the versamark ink. Tap off excess and heat set the clear emb powder with the heat tool. Leave to cool for a minute and then load up your sponge daunber with so saffron ink and in a circular motion rub the ink over the whole card including the embossed image. The ink will only colour the card and not the embossed image giving the effect that you have stamped white hearts on a piece of yellow cardstock. Its really effective, why not give it a try. The supplies used are Whisper White cardstock, going gray cardstock, going gray tafetta ribbon, so saffron ink, clear embossing powder, versamark, heat tool and sponge daubers and the new gorgeous rub ons as well as the Simply Said Stamp Set! Great news too the rub ons are on special offer till November 30th. If you purchase Stampin' Up items over £20 you can purchase the rub ons at 20% the retail price which means they are only £6 per pack. Some of the rub ons come in brown too and there are two sheets per pack so great value too. Contact me to place your orders michelle@cbdesign.org.uk
