This week I was invited to a Christmas Ornament & Cookie Swap. I had never heard of such a thing before and was intrigued by the invitation. All the guests were instructed to bring along a wrapped ornament and a plate of cookies, I can show you my wrapped ornament but I cannot show you my cookies as I forgot to take a photo –
you can see I used the gift tag I made in my 12 days of Christmas and the spotty red ribbon you can get free with the Bundle Up for Christmas offer…..
And this is what was inside the box, a glass bird from M&S…..
So we had to put all the gifts in the middle of the room and we drew numbers. Number 1 was first and you could choose any gift and unwrap it. This would be the gift I would keep as long as no-one else stole it from me. So then it goes to the person with the number two and she can choose to take my gift and I can choose another or she can choose a gift from the table and unwrap it. This continues but once a gift has been passed three times the third owner gets to keep the gift for good. It is such a nice way of spreading the Christmas spirit and seeing some beautifully wrapped parcels and their contents but you get to take home a plate of cookies too – isn't it a great idea?
Do you want to see the gift I was lucky enough to take home?
Wasn't it wrapped beautifully? And it was a handmade box too using Crumb Cake cardstock from Stampin Up, I wonder why I was drawn to it 🙂
Here is what was inside –
I was so pleased that I got to keep the contents of this box, love it, thank you Marguerite for a fun evening x
And just in case you have snow where you are I thought you might like to know that you are not alone, we have snow too!
Have a great day x
Hi Michelle … what a lovely idea a Christmas Ornament & Cookie swap is … I can see why you were so pleased with the one you received! I’m a bit suspicious though about the biscuits – are you sure you didn’t eat them all before you got your camera out?
By the way … I notice you’re the only one still blogging while the rest of us get Christmas organised … don’t leave it too late with all those festive plans honey!
Luv Lindy -x-
