I can't help myself, I keep things that may be useful. I think that is why I am a scrapbooker. I have kept every certificate, every drawing, every school report and even tags and fastenings from clothing. I really don't have room to store all this stuff which is why our loft is like another floor of our house but I cannot help myself.
I have the best intentions, just not enough time so when I kept this clothing tag from John Lewis, partly because it had a little vellum envelope and partly because I love the colour of the tag I knew I had to make something with it. Normally it would go into a drawer that I have labelled as 'things that make me happy' but as I have a stinking cold and am having a pajama day I decided to act.
This is the tag in question, which was not designed to fit inside the envelope so I had to cut it down a little. I then cut two very vanilla rectangles that would be small enough to nest on the tag and hide any of the writing or labels in the tag.
I wanted to add a little scallop and used the dotted scallop border punch in pink pirouette cardstock. Can you see that I have not punched the whole edge? The reason for this is the I still have a straight edge to line up in my trimmer. So that when I cut the scallop border in half the cardstock wont slip and move in the trimmer!!
Viola!!
I stuck this along the top of the very vanilla rectangle eon both sides and also punched a heart in the very vanilla and backed it with the pink pirouette cardstock.
Then just stuck it all together and stamped hand crafted from the gorgeous tiny tags set on the envelope and it was complete…….
Honestly no more than 5 minutes and one thing less to be added to my 'things that make me happy drawer'.
Have a great day, it is a perfect day for a pajama day as its pouring here x

Thanks for the tip on the border punch. I will do it that way next time I use the punch. Much easier than cutting with a scissor.
Love the idea Michelle … only the other day I threw away (reluctantly) a lovely tag from a woolly I’d bought … I kept thinking it’s such a shame to throw … maybe I need a “things that make me happy” drawer!
God I can so relate – “My name’s Nicky and I am a horder!”. I have a whole box full of tags for altering, and boxes of boxes for altering, and, and …. Fab tip re the punch – I have been using a stanley knife and metal rule – much safer your way! x
