This card makes my heart beat a little faster, I simply love it. It is so pretty and perfect for the lovely news I have had in the last week of not one but two brand new babies being born.
My lovely cousin Natalie has given birth to a gorgeous little girl called Poppy, a much anticipated sister to Megan and a long awaited for sibling to complete their family. She is one lucky little girl as she has chosen a lovely family and now that they are home, I can't wait to visit for a cuddle.
And last week, one of the lovely demonstrators in my team, Sarah Poulton from the Isle of Wight has her first little baby. She was born at 13:23 on 11th May weighing 9lb 1oz and she is just beautiful. I wish both new families lots of love and laughter.
So I sat down and enjoyed every minute of making these pretty little cards. I used the new edgelits from the summer mini to create the sleeve detail on the dress and also on the curve of bottom of the dress. The white frill was made with the scallop circle die and the pockets were made using the scallop oval and the oval punches.
I used the heart punch for the pockets too along with the circle punch and the scallop circle punch for the neckline.
I also made an easel for the back of the card so that it would stand up and then embossed the inside base with the new hearts embossing edge folders. I already had the pink safety pins and the sentiments were from Bundle of Love in the Idea Book & Catalogue.
{sigh}…
I scheduled this post to upload so that the recipients will have received the cards before I posted photos on here and also to give you something to look at whilst me and my crafting buddies are having fun on our crafting retreat.
So I hope you have a great weekend and I look forward to sharing all the news and photo's from this weekend with your in the next week or so.
I feel like a celeb getting a mention on your blog Michelle ;0) Thank you for the beautiful card and gift. It was very much appreciated. All is well here on the Isle. Summer is just perfect (even when she wont sleep at night!) xxx
I just saw this card on Pinterest, Michelle. It’s just so stinkin’ cute.
