Simply Soft Card File Class from the Retreat – Tutorial Available

This was one of the projects we made at the retreat.  It was originally inspired by a photo on Pinterest by Elena Liu.  I loved the idea of having somewhere pretty to store my finished cards before sending them off to their new owners.  I could not bear the thought of making something so pretty that would be so flimsy that it would not hold a stack of finished cards or would last for a long time that I set about creating a folder that not only is super sturdy but pretty too….

I do everything by eye and created this project with my own measurements and instructions without the use of a template. 

I could not resist using the Simply Soft Hostess set and I was so happy with how is worked out.  I am not very experienced at colouring in and I love how effective the flowers looked from just using markers direct to the cardstock to colour in the dandelion image.  That's right, no blender pens, aqua painters or fancy techniques, just plain ole colouring in…..  And it did not takes ages either!

The inserts for the box were trimmed with the Dotted scallop Border Punch in a contrasting colour finished off with the titles using the round tab punch and the flower brads and pearls.
