I have so many samples to share with you which I made for the recent weekend retreat and this set is using the new Open Sea set from the UK Summer Mini catalogue. The detail on this stamp set is so crisp and precise and so easy to stamp. I really enjoyed making these cards and decided to make a battered briefcase to house the three cards and envelopes for a bit of fun.
This card background was made using the woodgrain stamp in black ink on grey cardstock and cutting into lengths to resemble planks of wood. The porthole was tricky to line up using the circles #2 die and raised up using dimensionals and silver brads. The ship was stamped and the background sponged with a sun mask using a post it note.
The silver embossed globes look lovely on this card and the ship just fits into the designer embossed frame too. With a bit of linen thread the compass and a brad its a very effective card for any occasion including Father Day.
Hopefully this shot shows up the embossing a little better.
I stamped and handcut the ship image which was surprisingly easy even for me who struggles to cut fine images. I was really happy with this male orientated card set and am sure to use this Open Sea set again again, it is £18.95 in clear mount and £23.95 in wood and I can order for you and have it delivered direct to your home, just get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend and that the nasty rain has gone away…..
