My apologies for the bad photo! It was my nephews 18th birthday at the weekend and I needed to make a cool male birthday card, not easy for me let me tell you. I wanted to try and mask the number 18 and collected together all the birthday sentiment stamps I have. Quote a few as you can tell but I did repeat them several times.
I used some number stickers as a template and cut around them onto thin photocopy paper. I then stuck them in place with removable adhesive and began to stamp over the whisper white stampin' up cardstock as it is super smooth. I stamped in basic black ink and stamped randomly all over the background ensuring that I stamped over the masked 18.
I continued to fill in the background until I was happy that I could not see much white space and then using my ink daubers and more basic black ink I inked around the masked numbers.
I left if for a few minutes to make sure the ink was dry, then peeled off the number sticker masks and it left a nice crisp 18 image.
I was really happy with it and I also managed to roll up 5 x £5 notes really small so that they could be inserted into a helium balloon before it was inflated. So he will have to pop the balloon before he can get his hands on his birthday money.
It is his birthday today so Happy Birthday Alex xx And I had a lovely day at the spa yesterday with my friend Steph, very chilled and super relaxing and we managed to chat all day putting the wrold to rights 😀

this is absolutely gorgeous , what a Fab idea ! Love it !
Loved the card – I get stuck for boys cards too. At first I thought you had stuck the 18 on with foam pads as the shading has given the numbers so much depth. Great idea. Also loved the idea of your present. You’re a very creative lady|!
Love this Michelle…Fab idea and easy to change colour scheme for a very girly card too..perfect x
