We have a beautiful little alphabet stamp set in the annual catalogue (p.147) called Simply Serif Mini Alphabet which comes in the box as shown below. The idea is that there are little wooden sticks and you are to cut the corresponding letter and double mount them on the sticks, one on the top and one on the bottom.
I thought that was far too much of a faff!! and decided to make two clear mount stamps using the clear mount cling foam on page 7 of the annual catalogue…..
One stamp is uppercase and one is lowercase…
And I stuck stickers on the back to show me where the A is and where the Z is. Then when I want to use this alphabet I stamp the whole alphabet and cut out the letters I need.
And here is how I use them……
By doing it this way, it does mean that you cannot stamp words directly onto your project but I like cutting around them and inking the edges as the chance of me lining the alphabet up correctly is unlikely anyway!
I hope you enjoyed this tip, sorry no video today but I have lost my voice! It is so frustrating not being able to speak, of course my kids are loving the fact I am quiet. It was my Bicester craft day on Sunday and I think I obviously talked far too much! It was a wonderful day and here is a picture of the project we made, come back tomorrow to see more photo's and I will also add the instructions to the tutorials tab of my blog.
I'm off for a lie down, this feeling ill malarkey is not quite as much fun as I imagined!
Get well soon Michelle
