Today I am sharing another card we made at my monthly technique class using the Festive Flurry Stamp set.
It’s a spinner card which means the snowflake spins when the recipient opens the card. Easy to make but very effective.
You need a piece of cardstock (I used whisper white) 14.8cm x 29.7cm which is scored at 9.9cm and again at 19.8cm (sorry for the fiddly measurements). You should come along to the class as I do all the cutting and scoring for you :0)
This will create a piece of cardstock with 3 panels. Fold two of the panels together so that they will be double thickness and die cut a circle through both layers using the circle framelits dies.
Stamp 6 snowflakes, 2 in night of navy ink, 2 in soft sky ink which are smaller and die cut using the matching festive flurry framelits and then I stamped two snowflakes from the Round Array stamp set in night of navy and hand cut around them.
Secure a length of acrylic thread on the reverse of the largest snowflake and sandwich the same size snowflake on the reverse to glue it together. Layer up the rest of the snowflakes and the rhinestone.
Add some sticky strip on the inside just above and just below the die cut circle and adhere the acrylic thread in place. Ensure the stamped snowflake is in the centre of the circle die cut and trim off any excess acrylic thread. Add glue to the rest of the inner section and glue both panels together.
I added a piece of designer series paper from the winter frost pattern stack and stamped a sentiment on the front.
Give the snowflake a few spins before you close the card….. and viola!!
Cardstock – Whisper White and Winter Frost DSP stash £6.25
Inks – Night of Navy & Soft Sky (and marker pens for the sentiment)
Stamps – Festive Flurry Bundle including the stamp set and matching framelits £42.25 Sentiment from Snow Day £18.95 and smallest snowflake from Round Array £13.95
Tools & Embellishments – Circle Framelits £22.95, sticky strip £5.50, large rhinestones £4.50
I hope you give it a try, it is so effective.
Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget the starter kit offer will finish on Monday 21st October, don’t miss it!!
What a stunning card Michelle.
xx
Beautiful Card! Even if it didn’t spin, I love the snowflake in the window. Thanks a bunch. 🙂
