I finally had a play with my Project Life goodies and I surprised myself at how much I loved it! I am what I think of as a hardcore scrapbooker. I like to make detailed pages with one or two photos and make my own embellishments and add pockets and journalling and feel like a bit of a fraud if I rely on ready made accents and embellishments for my layouts. But it would be more accurate to say I ‘used’ to be a hardcore scrapbooker. Over the last few years I have not scrapbooked at all! I think its a combination of circumstance and time of my life. My job has become full time which means I have less time and my kids are teenagers now which means we do less note worthy things together and they are far more reluctant in front of the camera.
So when Stampin’ Up! introduced Project LIfe I was intrigued but not fully on board. One thing you have to know about me is that I would never endorse or share products I did not truly love which is why I had to try Project Life myself before I could honestly shout about it from the roof tops….
So I invited Amy’s friend and her mum around for the day to have a play and that is exactly what we did! It is so simple and quick! And what I found was that you can keep it simple or add your own personality, the choice is yours and the supplies needed are minimal too! Amy and Hannah loved it, so much that they both finished at least two sides and are now madly printing more photos.
That is the thing I love most, finally all my thousands of photos are making their way off my computer and into an album where we can all enjoy them. Its all very well being hardcore when it comes to scrapbooking but what’s the point when you never have time and it ends up making you feel guilty and sad when you look at your photos on your phone or computer! Well no more, I have competed one 12×12 layout with journalling and have 14 more pages all ready for some finishing touches.
So I am going to share with you from time to time the pages I make and the ones that Amy makes too! And I would really encourage you to give it a try, its very liberating and honestly will appeal to anyone who takes photos and wants to preserve some memories at the same time…..
I even did a little journalling on the photo of Pip!
I fell in love with corner rounding all over again!
And it was so easy to add the ready made printed cards to add some colour and interest and the accessory packs have colour coordinated items to tie the whole page together.
Love it, I am definitely ready to shout about Project Life by Stampin Up from the roof tops….
