I am busy packing up boxes and getting ready for a team weekend in Birmingham. We are spending Saturday and Sunday together crafting, sharing and spending time together right in the centre of Birmingham. We can nip over the road to Selfridges and we have dinner plans at Jamies Italian and a lovely Thai restaurant too! I will take lots of photo and share next week.
So as its Friday I thought I would share with you why I have been so busy lately 🙂
It seems like only yesterday when life looked like this!
And then I blinked and this happened!
That is me and Dom my son. When did he get so tall (or when did I get so small!). Here I am saying goodbye at the airport whilst he jets off for 3 months to Asia travelling with his friend Jamie.
I am so happy and excited for him and I hope his has the time of his life. Me Simon and Amy will be here waiting with baited breath for i-message updates, snatched facetime calls and uploads on facebook.
He is currently in Vietnam which looks amazing! I have never been to that part of the world and its weird when your son is seeing things and experiencing things I have never seen. I will keep you updated of his travels and I will keep dying my grey hairs blonde and I suspect that my poor hairdresser may need to spend a little more time on my locks next time!
We have also been having an extension on our house. Work started in November and I can finally tell you it is finished. The floor was fitted this week and it looks beautiful. We still have furniture to be delivered and we still have my office to fit out and I will blog about that separately. It has been stressful, especially whilst trying to work from home whilst all the work was going on but it was definitely worth the hassle.
Do you remember this…..
We had to cook in this kitchen for weeks! We have only just started eating fruit without layers of dust!
It was so dark, but look now 🙂
The area on the right is where my dining table will be.
Where the chairs are is where my office will be 🙂
We love it and can’t wait to start enjoying the new space. I also cannot wait for my Open House on 1st & 2nd June for the New Annual Catalogue Launch, we are going to have so much more room!
So no photos of cards today but I wanted to share what has been happening in our lives this year. I’m off to pack the car and wish you all a wonderful weekend. Thanks for sticking with me x
Wow – your kitchen looks lovely Michelle. Can’t wait to see the office – I’ll show you mine too when I finally clear all the building dust out!! Love the pictures of your kids too – Dom will have the time of his life and 3 months will fly by so fast. Your extension has taken longer than he’ll be away!! 🙂 xx
p.s. enjoy the Pinkies weekend – so wish I was able to join you x
Loved seeing a peek of your life. Your children are beautiful, and you look the same too. I was surprised when the second picture came up and your son was all grown up. Your new construction is lovely. I love the white and the rounded corners.
Thanks so much for sharing.
🙂
Love the kitchen. Good luck with your new office too x
Have a great weekend. Your kitchen looks wonderful. And 3 months will fly by. Just keep yourself busy.
Eveline.
Lots of hard work has taken you to all the stages you have shared with us Michelle! Enjoy your new surroundings as much Dom will on his travels! Best wishes, Sue xx
Have an awesome weekend…wish I could be there to join you!! Just in case you aren’t recognizing my name, I am one of the ladies from Janet Wakeland’s Remarkable Stampers Team and enjoyed eating dinner in Orlando with you at TuTu Tango’s! I’ve been dropping in to your blog on occasion to see your awesome creations. Happy Stampin’!!
I most certainly do you remember you Carolyn and do wish you were able to join us. Perhaps at one of the future on stage events we could meet up again, I would love that!
Don’t show me the horror of the building work, just show me the “afters”. Reason? We are having an extension soon and I am DREADING the mess and upheaval, so am pretending it won’t happen.
ha ha it is worth it, its a bit like childbirth, you swear you will never do it again but before you know it all the pain is forgotten!
