I struggled to know which stamp set to use this week. There are so many lovely stamps and items leaving our annual catalogue in the Stampin’ Up! retiring sale and have sold out already I found it hard to choose what to use! I opted for Open Heart as I have only used this stamp once before and it deserved to get inky again.
I cut around the bird which is tricky for me as I don’t do much hand cutting but it was easier than I expected.
I grunged it up a little with my edge distresser and sponge but I distressed the sentiment more than expected as I had to remove the staples when I realised I had put the sentiment back to front!
I changed it up slightly but I think it still echoes the sketch design. Shall we go and see what the other design team members made using the same sketch?

This is stunning Michelle! I love the colors and your stamped background is perfect. Great way to add the sentiment too!
This is beautiful! I love all of the distressing and “grunging” you did.
Lovely card Michelle, I adore that stamp set too, and I love the grunge effect on your card, perfectly done.
This has such a fabulous vintage feel. Stunning. Hugs from Shelagh.
Fabulous Michelle ! I love the vintage effect, perfect !
Stunning card Michelle, I love the distressed, grunged effect you have created.
Lovely! It’s perfect for the theme of the card. A bit understated but I can see lots of work has gone into all that fabulous colouring! I think I might need to finally get this lovely set now!
Woops – I just re-read my comment. I mean ‘understated’ as a compliment! You know – matching theme of card (removes foot from mouth …..).
you made me chuckle Claire, you could never put your foot in it with me 🙂
Love love love the vintage look of your card.
This set becomes more and more appealing to me…thank you!
