It is sketch challenge time again and this weeks sketch was a little different to the norm. I took a look at the sketch and went to bed to think about ideas and this is what came to me!
I adore the woodland embossing folder and I have not used it nearly enough of late so was itching to get it out again. And the Holly Stene’s wonderful project from a previous week got me thinking when I saw the leaf diecuts from the pillowbox die set. Here is the sketch –
We would love you to join in and make something using this sketch. You have until Saturday to load your entry and please visit the Global Design Project Challenge Blog to find out how easy it is!
I used a combination of the gorgeous grunge stamp set and a sponge dauber to ink the tree trunks (see my previous video on how to Ink a raised embossed image here). I then set to work cutting out the leaves in lots of autumnal colours. It is pretty quick to do it too as there are 3 leaves on the die.
Finally I used the sentiment from Peaceful Pines and simply took out some of the words as it would have been too long.
I hope you like my card and please pop over to the challenge blog to see what all the other talented design team members have made this week.
And if you visit my online shop and place an order (simply click any of the items listed below to be taken direct to my shop) then please don’t forget to enter this months hostess code if your order is more than £20 and less than £150. Thanks so much x

I love your card Michelle ! I guess it was a *** of a job to cut out all the leaves, I would never thought of using the leaves like that, great job ! x
Very fun and creative idea! Your card is stunning with all your leaves and your painted trees. I’m off to watch your video on how to create such a fabulous background!
This card is SO brilliant I don’t even know where to start. Such a fab idea to use the leaves all built up like that, and the colouring of the trees – swoon!
Perfection! x

I always love your thinking….you amaze me with each and every single creation Michelle. I know I probably sound like a broken record, but it’s true. A gorgeous card as always. Louise xo
This is such a great card, I love the leaves & autumn (fall) is my favourite season!
Simply beautiful.
Michelle – I love your interpretation of this sketch. The leaves are a creative and super-fun way to fill in the lower corner. I’m so honored to be on the Global Design Project team with you.
Michelle, I love your card so much. It inspired my snow-themed card. The tree trunks are so well-painted and the colors of those leaves are everything I love about Fall. S happy to be a part of the Global Design Project with you.
I love how you colored the trees Michelle! I can almost feel the papery texture of the bark by looking at it. Fabulous abundance of leaves in gorgeous fall colors.
hello Michelle – a truly beautiful card and those trees look so real as to be almost leaping off the card. It has given me food for thought as well as to what hidden gems I haven’t considered either.. and with me struggling with an Autumn themed challenge such a fabulous idea as well.
