You may have already heard about December Daily started by Ali Edwards. It is a way to document each day of December in an album to look back on in years to come to see a real life documentation of your and your family.
I have never joined in with December Daily before as I thought that I had nothing interesting to record each day during the month of December. I thought that the content would be too boring or competitive but there must be one thing each day worth documenting. Simple pleasures and real life and a real window into our lives.
One of my team recently did an Inspiration Station at our team event and focussed on Project Life and she inspired me (thanks Karin) to make an album this year and honestly it was far easier than I thought.
So here is the official line from Ali Edwards – About December Daily®
December Daily® is a December mini-album project that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas. The simple goal is to capture the spirit of December via one story per day.
Over the last seven years this project has become one of the highlights of my year and a beautiful community of memory keepers has come together to share their December stories with one another. It’s an awesome way to document and celebrate the season.
So in a couple of hours I had completed all the prep and made the core of my album. Now all I need to do it take a photo of our activities each day in December, print them off and decorate/finish off once the holiday is complete.
I have not scrapbooked in a while and I am super excited that this has got me inspired again. I love it because it is simple and not overwhelming and for once in my life I am ahead of the game and organised and it only took a few supplies and 2 hours!
So let me show you my interpretation of the December Daily using Project Life by Stampin’ Up!
These are the supplies I used (and nothing else) and they are listed at the bottom of this post if you wish to purchase them and join in the fun too!
Below are the embellishments all laid out from the pack above.
And here is the cover of my album. I am going to print out my favourite photo to measure 6×9″ and add it to the cover and decorate the photo.
Can you also see the post it note telling me how many photo’s I need and what size. It will be so easy to order them after Christmas to finish my album. When they arrive I will simply slide them into the pockets and finish with my final embellishments and journalling.
Here are the inner pages all ready to go documenting each day….
So who is joining me?

I hadn’t heard of December daily before and now I want to do it – yet another thing to add to the huge to do list – thanks for that!!!! Lol!
Lightbulb moment – Ok so I’m just going to steal your layouts totally! Ha ha ha! 🙂 xx
ooow, looks adorable- this december is definitely going to be one to remember for me, and would be great to get this set up ahead of time (ie before baby arrives!) so i could just slot pics in when life has (hopefully) calmed down a bit in jan 🙂
You might just have inspired me to buy kit even if i don’t win!!
I have the supplies ready for my December Daily… and this is the first time for me too!
Thanks to Karin for the inspitation. Let’s see how it goes.
I didn’t think it was something for me either but after seeing your layouts I’m not so sure anymore. I love them!!
Great idea to prepare them all in advance so much easier when the photo’s have to be printed. Thank you for the inspiration 🙂
Hi Michelle,
Great art of work!! With this post of you looks Project Life so simly!! I think it is so nice to work with the kits of Project Life. Thanks for this post you showed. I will try…
Warm Regards,
Hillie
Michelle, you have inspired me! What a wonderful way to pass it on, just by sharing what we love!
Its a great way to record your memories!
Oh my…love a challenge Michelle and this sure would be for me, but sooooooo much fun !!!
hugs Diane xx
Photos “delivered ” ? Why not print them out at home? Any size you feel like, up to A4.
I have them printed by a professional company or Costco as I used to print my own photos and the cost of paper and ink just wasn’t worth it, especially as the prints have faded over time I would far rather pay for great quality and what better than having them delivered direct to my door 🙂
If you are taking the pictures on your phone, have you heard of an app called ‘freeprints’ you get 45 free 6×4 photos each month all it costs is the price of delivery (starting at £1.49 and never more than £3.99) 🙂
Wow, looks great 🙂 I am new to Stampin up! I saw the kit, but never would have thought to use it in this way! That’s why I have enjoyed looking at your blog, I have got so many ideas and inspiration of things to try! Thank you! x
not sure why this comment posted as a reply to this :s – sorry (new at this)!
I’d love to have a go at this !
I would love to win this bundle…..after a very difficult couple of years I have an extra special reason to smile on this Thanksgiving Day and would be the perfect start to my December Daily album. Good luck everyone! X
That is lovely to hear Lyn, you deserve to smile darling. xx
What a great idea, might have a go and somehow make it to interact with my daughter’s advent calendar!
What a great idea, you could photograph the contents and her reaction 🙂

What a great idea Michelle. I love December, especially as it is my birthday month and then celebrating with family and friends. I would love a good challenge! X
I’ve never scrapbooker before but Project Life is tempting me to give it a go. I’ve bought a kit but have had no real inspiration to use it. December daily might just do it……!
Dear Michelle having never ever scrap booked in my life this looks a super way to get started with layouts already worked out as it were and love that is just for a month and not something you have to commit to doing and to keep it up X inspirational to say the least!
Jan X
oooo yes please! looks great xx
Hi Michelle,
Love hiw you decorated your album. I’m planning to make a December daily myself this year. It’s going to be an exciting challenge don’t you think?
Greetings from Germany
Maria 🙂
I havent try projects life products but I wold love too. Thanks for the encorangment. X
What an inspiring layout I love it Michelle. I have never scrapped before and was planning to do it in January having just bought the smaller file and some inserts to start to play with to gather ideas and thinking if you are all doing December daily maybe I can watch everyones ideas and that would help me with designs etc… However I might be persuaded to start sooner if I was your lucky winner. My aim is to get a group together in January so have in mind a “Join Gill in January” campaign. My thoughts were to start a Scrap booking group as part of my “Join Gill in January” but also to have in my mind my aim to try and get my first downline so for me the phrase is still “Join Gill in January” . Some extra lovely stash would make it all so much more possible and help inspire me. x
My goodness my previous comment went through all wrong as I sent it from my ipad. Anyway I just wanted to say that I haven’t try Project Life products but I would love to! thanks for the encouragement and the advice. x Bibi
Hi Michelle,
I’ll join you in your challenge. My first December Daily.
Good luck!
Big hug,
Ilse
I’ve been thinking about journaling a positive thing everyday for a while now, if I was to win it would definitely inspire me x
Like many of you, I have not done DD or even started Project Life! Great way to do this as a group! So, next week, I will take between 3 to 5 pics a day, then write about it! Maybe at the end, we can show each other our take on DD! Could be a creative challenge! Thanks for sharing Michelle! Could even incorporate the giveaway win in the DD! Baz xxx
I never heard about this project but I need to check this out, I really love the idea.
Michelle I wanted to say thank you, your projects are an inspiration!
Hi Michelle,
Last year I bought the kit. And did nothing with it. This year I bought the kit. And I’m struggeling again…. So with this inspiration I really hope to manage to make a album for the next month! Thank you so much!
x
Lovely project, this has inspired me to start scrap booking again, thank you for all the lovely ideas. X
Hi Michelle
Love this idea and it makes Project Life look so much more manageable. Still not dipped my toe into PL yet but getting really tempted by this! The more you inspire the more I want 😉
xx
I recently discovered Ali Edwards and bought a kit from the US. Not the December Daily but think I might give it a go after seeing yours x
love love the idea Project life is on my long list of things to try but its a really long list but you do make it look easy
Hi Michelle, like many of the people who have responded, I hadn’t heard of DR before. I have been thinking about using project life to record a special holiday my husband and I are going on next year. This has given me inspiration to make this a definite plan. Thank you, Tracey
Sorry, auto correct changed DD into DR.
*adds Project Life goodies to order list* 😀
Hi Michelle
I love the layouts you have prepared, like you I couldn’t imagine finding a photo to record each day, but having seen this blog I so want to do it! Adding it to my ever expanding list of things to get done in December. Thank you for the inspiration xxx
I too bought a Project Live album and kit last year and was planning to make it for my my Mum with photo’s and reminders of my Dad, who passed away almost 5 years ago. But never got around it too. Your newsletter in my mailbox reminded me of it, so thank you Michelee for the reminders ;o)
Omg! What a fab idea! Love the daily december project life idea! Iv just sat and had a good think and gosh there is so much to capture! Even from the simple things we do in prep of xmas to the decorating of my xmas cake. The nights out, visiting family, decorating the house, im at a xmas market wknd! Omg its so got my creative juices flowing! You never cease to inspire me michelle and for that i love and thank you! Im going to do this and plan! The prize would make it all the easier! Cheers for the idea! Xx
This looks so pretty! What a fantastic idea. I’ve not done any paper crafting for ages (turned my hand to sewing/fabric crafts instead) but I’ve recently started to get back into it and have started making my Christmas cards. This album looks like a great way to get back into scrapbooking. It’s less scary than having to do a big 12×12 layout. I’ll definitely be looking into getting one x
You have inspired me to have a go at this! I haven’t scrapped in ages let alone documented December! Capturing the moments as they happen brilliant plan. Wish me luck!!
I would love to make one of these albums.
Hello Michelle
I have never done Project Life or kept a journal or scrapbooked though I have thought about starting but didn’t know how or where to or what was involved until I saw your blog.
Today I’m fasting for a procedure at hospital tomorrow evening and I’m afraid (and I am afraid!) that this is taking up all my thoughts up and getting me into a right twizzle but since reading your blog I’ve now got other ideas and thoughts running around my head.
Thank you Michelle.
Love these layouts, Michelle. I think it would be nice to keep a record of the build up to the big day for the grandchildren. While we were with them today the doorbell rang, and Santa had left a parcel on the doorstep for them (my daughter had sneaked out through the side door whilst they were distracted). Inside was an ‘Elf on the Shelf’, which they’ve named Mr McJingles. He sits on a shelf watching them during the day, then flies off to the North Pole every night to report to Santa on whether they’re naughty or nice! (Maybe we all need one!!)
This sounds like fun! I can’t wait to get started. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
This looks amazing and I would love to have a go. Thanks for the chance to win.
Love this idea. December is a poignant month for me as it holds many memories of my dear Pa. This could be one way of working through it. Thank you.
I would love to win this! Thanks for the chance!
P.S. I posted earlier, but didn’t see it, so I hope this isn’t a repeat!

Fabulous idea and layouts. I have done December daily before but literally made the book from scratch. This is a much easier solution.
