Whilst you are reading this I will be on the Stampin’ Up! Cruise around the Mediterranean. There are 815 of us from across the world all celebrating together.
Whilst on board we get the chance to make 26 cards and swap them for other cards from other demonstrators. I am super excited to see the swaps I get back and will share a video on my return of all the lovely items I receive.
This is the card I made (26 in fact) using the new Love & Affection Stamp set which is launching in the new catalogue (1st June).
I stamped onto craft cardstock and heat embossed the flowers in white. I then coloured the whole flower and leaves in white ink and let it dry.
I then coloured them with an aqua painter and the dye inks. I used the new In Colour Flirty Flamingo which I have just fallen in love with…
I stamped thanks onto vellum and my card was complete.
So I made them sound pretty simple but just to warn you it did take me an age to make 26+. I made some matching tags too but you will see those in my next blog post.
Not long till you can order this set and many more lovely things, I have already had so much lovely feedback about the new catalogue, just wish it would hurry up and launch already 🙂
Have a great day x
wow totally beautiful my friend and nice that they added stamping to the cruise this year, I always wondered why they didn’t have it before haha…looks like you are all having a blast.
Lovely, so pretty!
Oh wow it’s so pretty! 🙂 x
Michelle,
I love the colors, the layout, the velum and everything else about this card. Kraft card stock can be challenging to bring a lot of intense color to. I’d never thought of embossing in white AND coloring in white, then painting over that. Great idea! I’ve seen a few different techniques for getting great color on card stock – I’ll check my Pinterest boards for them. I believe colored pencil was one. I have also come across lighter shaded card stock as well. I’m a former SU girl from the US and I have to say the new catalogue is tempting and drawing me back in!
I love mass producing cards like you did with these. I can never just make one of something, lol. I hope you enjoyed your cruise… It sounds amazing! I’m finishing up an order of cards for a friend who sells them to her coworkers and you’ve given me total inspiration with this card! Thanks for sharing this! Absolutely beautiful!!
So beautiful Michelle xx
Hi, I love this card but what white ink did you use to color the flower with before painting over it? Was it with craft ink or a gel pen or was it regular white stamp pad with a sponge? I love this technique but have not quite figured it out to try it. Thanks!
It was the white craft ink and watered down with an aqua painter. I then let it dry before adding another colour over the top, hope that helps x
