For today’s Global Design Project Challenge we have a sketch and I am using the Best Birds stamp set and Birds and Blooms Thinlits.
This is a new set which has not been used so far. I was itching to use it but was nervous on how to work with the bird and make him realistic. In fact the first attempt did not work so this is my 2nd attempt.
This rather chubby little bird was pretty easy to stamp and colour and the matching framelits made cutting around him pretty easy. I adore the brand too, I can see me using that a lot in the coming months. I used the sponge brayer to create the mottled sky background using Pool Party Ink.
I also embossed the woodland embossing folder for the background of the card to add some more texture. My chubby bird is really standing out from the front of the card isn’t he?
This is this weeks sketch and I would love to see what you come up with using the same sketch. Everyone is welcome to join in, you have a whole week to make your project and the winner is announced a week today. Such a beautiful card Michelle! The sponge roller did a wonderful job of soft color on the card, and that coloring job on the bird is wonderful! Cute little leaves at the top too.
You are so kind Lynn, love those sponge brayers! Really appreciate your kind comments x
The softened colors of the branches against the sky really highlight the bird. Awesome!
Thanks so much Brent x
This is the prettiest card, Michelle! I love the pretty background color too! It is so soft and sweet!!
Thanks Deanette x
