It was my technique class on Monday and we made three cards using the Best Birds Stamp set and matching dies from Stampin’ Up!
I made a little robin, not sure how accurate he is but at least he is recognisable 🙂 The Best Birds really is a versatile stamp set which can be used for so many occasions. If you also purchase the matching framelits dies, Birds & Blooms Thinlits you can cut our the images with ease and even use the relief.
I embossed the background with the woodland embossing folder (a must have for every crafter) onto whisper white cardstock. I then the ever so useful layering square framelits to create a scallop frame and also a background to stamp my sentiment on.
I stamped and coloured the bird, branch and flowers and then cut them out using the birds and blooms thinlits and attached them to the frame.
I used a variety of colouring techniques but I was using regular whisper white cardstock so I made sure not to over wet the cardstock as it can pill or ball. I coloured the bird mainly using aqua painters and real red, chocolate chip and crumb cake ink.
Such a sweet little bird, more birds tomorrow to inspire you so be sure to check back…
