I am sharing my card designed for the Global Design Project Weekly Challenge. I have made a Christmas card using the Holly Berry Happiness stamp set in the new seasonal catalogue.
This weeks Global Design Project Challenge is a sketch challenge (my favourite) and I wanted to create an overlap on the banner. I did make another card using a snowman but I wasn’t entirely happy with it so I reached for the Holly Berry Happiness and decided to stamp a wreath and that the edges of the wreath would overlap the edge of the banner.
I stamped the wreath then cut my straight lines before hand cutting around the holly. I coloured the holly with white craft ink and an aqua painter and let the ink dry. Once dry I coloured in pear pizzazz ink using an aqua painter making sure the paper did not pill. I then adding shading with garden green ink and a blender pen. I then added crystal effects (which is now retired but you can use glossy effects) to make the holly shine. I then coloured the smallest pearls with a red sharpie to create berries.
I love the diagonal stripe on the Fancy Frost DSP and decided that would be my background.
I used a sentiment and banner from Stitched with Love from the new Seasonal and shaded the edges of the banner to create some dimension.
Love the clean feel of this card and the crisp colours, hope you like it too.
It’s time to hop on over to the Global Design Project to see what the other designers have made using the sketch below.
Be sure to add your own entries as we love to see what you made!
