For this months technique 101 blog hop we are making a Z Fold Card.
It is a really fun fold card which can be adapted to make so many different cards.
I have kept my Z fold card pretty simple and let the stamps do the talking.
I cut a piece of whisper white cardstock to measure 10.5cm x 29.7cm.
I then cut an angled piece of card off the long edge to create the angled finish, see below. The top left corner (a) is positioned at 10cm on my trimmer and the bottom right corner (b) is positioned in the gully where the cutting blades passes and I cut off that angled strip of cardstock.
I then scored the card at 9.9cm intervals so I have three sections. I cut my patterned paper to a strip which measured 9.5cm wide and laid it on the panel where I wanted to add patterned paper. I made sure that it was evening spaced between the right hand and left hand score line. I moved the patterned paper up slightly (approx 2 widths from the bottom), slipped it over and marked with a pencil and trimmed off the excess.
I should then have a piece of patterned paper which an even border on all sides with the same angle as the cardstock card base.
If you are super clever you can flip that piece of patterned paper and use the other pattern on the other side to adhere to another panel and that the angle is a perfect match!
I then stamped the front of my card with 4 colours of ink using the Blooms & Wishes stamp set. Some of the colours were stamped onto my scrap paper before stamping on the card to give a lighter shade and two variations of colour from the same ink pad.
Pretty simple but yet very effective! Shall we go and see what the other Z fold cards the design team members have made? Next up is Sonia Benedetti, just click the button below to go directly there….
