This weeks challenge card is a sketch challenge from the Global Design Project and I reached for the stamp set from Stampin Up called Vintage Leaves.
I had a crack at embossing the beautiful leaves to create a background. I tried gold and copper embossing powder but loved how bright the gold was..
I stamped the leaves onto Kraft cardstock making sure there was not too big a gap in between the leaves. I then inked the edges of the card with soft suede ink and then crumbled up the whole piece in my hand into a small ball. I felt it echoes the crisp autumn leaves at this time of year. I also fuzzied up the edges of the kraft too to give is another distressed feel.
I stamped and embossed one of the largest leaves and cut around it. I embossed the square background with the Petal Burst embossing folder and tied some linen thread and gold bakers twine (new discovery – i love it!) and finished the card off with a sentiment from Here for You. It would also be a perfect mens birthday card.
Here is this weeks sketch from the Global Design Project... I really encourage you to join in this week as its a really easy sketch with lots of scope.
It’s now time to pop on over to the Global Design Project to see what the other wonderful members of the design team have made using the same sketch. Check out how to add your entry too as we’d love to see what you make using this sketch!

FABULOUS CARD!
J ADORE
Beautiful. I love it.
Beautiful card Michelle! I really like the Kraft with the dark brown—nice combo—and gold embossing just seals he deal!
Gorgeous Fall card! What other colors did you use? Early Espresso and Black? Early Espresso and Chocolate Chip?
I used Early espresso and soft suede for the embossed part and kraft to emboss on to. Hope that helps x
Oh Michelle, This is just beautiful and I love your sentiment choice … so beautifully fitting xx
I love the aged/distressed look to your card Michelle. The whole thing reminds me of a crumpled autumn leaf. I remember feeling quite horrified the first time I ever had to crumple up a perfectly good piece of card, lol.
Your card is stunning Michelle ! I love the rustic look!
