Its theme challenge week over at the Global Design Project and the theme is adventure. Bear Hugs from Stampin Up seemed like a perfect stamp set as a start for my adventure themed card and this is what I came up with…
I wanted to create a fun outdoor adventure card and decided to mask the trees to make the bear be popping out from behind the trees.
I used the single tree stamp from Lovely as a Tree and stamped the tree onto a post it note and then removed 2-3 from the post it note stack and cut closely around the stamped image so that when I split the post it note stack I had three tree masks. I stamped the trees along the booting of the white cardstock and then masked up two trees whilst stamping another tree in the centre.
Once I got about half way up I masked the tree and added the bear in basic black ink which I then coloured the bear with an aqua painter and early espresso ink. I then had to create a bear mask with post its so that I could continue to stamp the trees all the way to the top of the cardstock.
I inked around the edge using Garden Tree Ink and a sponge and aqua painted over the trees to blend the green ink out and to make the white background show less.
I wanted to stamp the inside too and loved the sentiment which is from The Places You’ll Go as it matched the front perfectly!
You may be thinking when would you give a card with this sentiment (both from Places You’ll Go) but I had in mind our son who likes to travel the world for months at a time and I always send him on his way with a note or a card and this would be just perfect.
So pop on over to the Global Design Project to join in this week and make your own adventure card and whilst you are there come and see what the other design team members have made.
