Today at the Technique 101 we are sharing some tips and ideas on how to make a quick and simple card using the Stampin Write Markers from Stampin Up.
I decided to showcase the colouring of the stamps using the markers with the Label Me Pretty Stamp set and matching Pretty Label Punch.
I used the beautiful Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper for the card background. I coloured the pretty stamp with the flower detail with 4 different colour markers all from the Subltes Collection of Stampin’ Write Markers in Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz.
How I made my card
I used the thick tip of the marker and colour each element separately. You will find that when you first colour the ink is wet and shiny but as it dries (which is pretty quickly) it dulls on the red rubber. Don’t rush or worry how long it takes to colour your stamp that the ink is going to dry and you won’t get a good stamped impression.
You simply need to re-moisten the stamp by breathing hard on the red rubber and the moisture in your breath with re-moisten the ink and then you can stamp onto whisper white cardstock and punch out using the Pretty Label Punch.
I then stamped the chosen greeting using Dapper Denim Ink (which I picked out of the delightful daisy dsp) and punched around it with my 1 3/8″ circle punch which nests perfectly in the Pretty Label Punch which I raised with a dimensional.
I used the notecards and envelopes from Stampin’ Up which are cut and scored and a smaller size so not daunting for beginner crafts and a great price too!
I love that you can own so many of our ink colours if you purchase the Stampin Write Markers and then simply choose the ink pads in your favourite colours. It means you have a wide array of colours to use and its a great way to build your collection when you first get started. The marker pens are filled with dye ink which is exactly the same as the ink pads, so fast drying and perfectly matches our coloured cardstock, embellishments, papers etc.
