I’ve started! I have had a play and have started making some Christmas Cards. There is a chill in the air, the seasons are changing and I’ve promised myself I won’t leave it to the last minute this year to make my Christmas cards.
There is so much I love about this Christmas Card. I have really created texture and dimension and thrown in a technique or two to really get the WOW factor.
It is hard to see but the card base itself is embossed with the Subtle embossing folder which simply creates a textured pattern on the cardstock so it is no longer smooth but slightly textured (similar to Anaglypta wallpaper).
I cut a rectangle of watercolour paper and sprinkled Brusho Ink Crystals in Prussian Blue and a little in Moss Green and then spritzed with a water spray. I absorbed the excess water using kitchen towel and it leaves this lovely mottled inked background.
I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock using my new favourite Corrugated Embossing Folder (it is a dynamic embossing folder so it gives a really deep impression). I tore an edge and stuck it over the brusho background.
The beautiful snowflakes are from the Blizzard Thinlits Dies. It is one large plate die with several snowflakes so you can create a background and use the die cut snowflakes too (which is what I used).
The greeting is from Merry Christmas to All which is SO versatile with a matching set of dies so you can make up any Christmas greeting you desire.
I added a galvanised button tied with some linen thread to the centre of the snowflake.
I used the must have tool (and another definite favourite from the new seasonal catalogue) called the Take Your Pick tool to pick up the fiddly elements. I really enjoyed making this Christmas Card. It felt good to be crafting again. Only another 49 to go ………. 🙂
