We have one month left of Sale-a-bration and this month is the last chance to get your hands on FREE Sale-a-bration items with every £45 you spend. I have been crafting with the By The Bay Stamp set. A much overlooked set I reckon but I think its a great set as it has greetings and images and if you like to colour its a must!
I made two cards. Once I fully coloured and the other I kept almost monochrome. Which one do you prefer?
This one is the coloured version. I used an aqua painter and watercolour pencils to get this effect. I was fun to colour although a little time consuming. I stamp in StazOn onto watercolour paper and then coloured away until I was happy with the effect. I felt a little rusty when I was watercoloring, as its been so long since I used them. My go to colouring solution are Stampin’ Blends but I was worried the colours would be too intense for the image and that is was very detailed so I opted to watercolour. I think I need more practice 🙂
Die cut the circle from the Layering Circles Framelits and added them to the card front using dimensionals.
I used a piece of woodgrain effect patterned paper and edged it with some colour to pick out the green on the stamped image. The greeting is also from the same set which is great.
Next up is the monochrome style card.
It was the same idea as the Mad as a Box of Frogs card and die cut a stitched rectangle into a smoky slate rectangle and stamped and coloured the image onto some watercolour paper.
Colour the image using smoky slate and Basic Grey Ink and an Aqua Painter. I added the tiniest amount of Soft Seam Foal ink onto the greenery but other than that I just get the colour palette simple.
The greeting is also from the same By The Bay stamp set stamped just under the die cut
Once I had coloured the image I added the Smoky Slate mount using dimensionals to the card front.
So which one if your favourite? I hope it has shown you how different this stamp set can look depending on how you colour it.
