I wanted to create my own designer series paper and decided to emboss a piece of vellum and colour using the Stampin’ Blends. I used the All That You Are stamp set and Heat Embossed the Vellum all over using white embossing powder.
It was so fun to make. The Stamp I used from the All That You Are stamp set is large so I was able to stamp it several time in different directions in versamark ink and then simply add white embossing powder and heat it gently to set the powder.
I cut the vellum to be the exact size of my Soft Seafoam card front and then flipped it over to colour the reverse with Stampin’ Blends.
The colour is very subtle so you will have to keep layering it until you are happy with the depth of colour. All of the flowers and leaves were coloured on the under side of the vellum BUT the only detail which was coloured on top were the stamens and centre of the tiny flowers.
Once I was happy with my coloured vellum I stuck it to the Soft Seafoam card base using Tombow Multipurpose Glue which dried clear. Just add a thin layer to the edges and corners and stick in place and once it is dry it will be invisible!
The greeting on the front has been heat embossed in white onto Highland Heather Cardstock and punch out using the punch from Saleabration Coordination called the Story Label Punch. I added a length of Gorgeous Grape striped ribbon behind it and stuck it in place with dimensionals.
I have been searching for a glue to use on vellum for many many years and little did I know I had it here all along! It is available via my online shop and listed in the supplies used below.
Which Stampin’ Blends did I use?
- Highland Heather Light and Dark
- Granny Apple Green Light and Dark
- Rich Razzleberry Dark
I also added some stamping on the inside of the card…
I think that Highland Heather and Soft Seafoam go great together!
I shared three videos on my Facebook Business Page to show how I created the vellum, coloured the vellum and how I stuck the vellum so if you are interested, click here to watch!
Why not give it a try? It’s great fun and gives a lovely result.
