I shared a photo of this card earlier this week when I was showcasing the Coordination Product Release but it is one of our team make and takes at our event today so I did not want to spoil the surprise. Here is a more in depth post for you to share how I made created the background using the Wet Wipe Ink Pad Technique.

It is an unusual card shape as its long and thin which gave me more scope to decorate the background with the fern from the Positive Thoughts Stamp set.
How to create the background
I used the Ink Pad Wet Wipe technique using wet wipes where you create your own ink pad with ink refills. I used my Silicone sheet to protect my table an layered up two wet wipes (double layered) so there were 4 layers altogether.
Choose approx 4 coloured ink refills you want to work with. I used Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo.
Dot the ink onto the wet wipe (an area slightly larger than the stamp you are using) adding more of the lighter shades and less of the darker shades.
Add dots of Sahara Sand Ink refill to your wet wipe.

Then add dots of Soft Suede Ink refill to your wet wipe.

Add dots of Blushing Bride Ink refill to your wet wipe ink pad and watch them spread and blend together.

Lastly, add drops of Flirty Flamingo Ink refill to fill in the gaps.

Leave the ink to blend and spread into one another so there are no white gaps. If there are add more drops of Sahara Sand Ink refill. Wait till all ink have spread and there are no white gaps and then begin to stamp your image onto your Whisper White cardstock.

After stamping two or three times (whilst re-inking each time on your wet wipe ink pad), clean your stamp before re-inking otherwise the ink can muddy on the stamp and the colours are less defined.

This works beautifully on foliage and leaf stamps when you want to get multiple colours on on image. Give it a try, I bet you can come up with some cool combinations!

Hi, Michelle, thank you so much for sharing this technique. I love your card.
This is beautiful! I haven’t tried this technique yet…seeing this, I might give it a go! TFS!
Different, and beautiful. The colors go so well together. Did you stamp anything inside?
I did Lynn, I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it in Silver and added a little butterfly die cut in Sahara Sand. Sorry I don’t have a photo x
Thanks for reminding me of this technique. I love the colors you have chosen. Beautiful card.
Another great card with a different technique to try
Thank you
I’m looking forward to using this techniques soon! Thank you for organising such a great dayx
