I could not resist this little Snowman when I saw him in the Snow Wonder Bundle. He has such a vintage feel about him and I adore the font used for the greetings too!
The snowman was coloured using Stampin’ Up’s water painters. You get three in a pack with different brush tips and a water reservoir to hold liquid for easy watercolouring.
It is so easy to colour smaller/finer areas with the fine tip and to experiment with different watercolour effects using the flat brush tip.
The Classic Stampin’ Ink pads from Stampin’ Up! are dye based and I used them to colour my snowman.
Ink Pads colours used to colour my snowman
- Smoky Slate
- Old Olive
- Real Red
- Pumpkin Pie
- Whisper White
- Crumb Cake
You may be wondering where I used the Crumb Cake ink but I created a little shadow along the edge of the body to add some depth and dimension.
And finally I could not resist using my go to favourite technique – heat embossing and used Silver Embossing Powder to add the greeting.
I’d recommend you stamp your snowman in StazOn Black ink first and then add the heat embossed greeting before doing the water colouring. It then makes its easy to know where to stamp your snowflakes too.
If you fancy giving this card a go, all the items I used are shared below. Click any of the items you will to to my shop and see more details about that specific product. And pop back later this week to see more ideas using the snowman from Snow Wonder.
