You may have seen an uprising of chickens recently and the reason for that is that we not only have one stamp set in the mini catalogue called Hey Birthday Chick but we have bought back Hey Chick which was available during sale-a-bration last year…. AND we have matching dies for both sets.

The chickens are so much fun to colour and I tried to make them all different using my Stampin’ Blends. I created my own patterned paper by stamping the chickens from Hey Chick & Hey Birthday Chick repeatedly onto Basic White Cardstock.

I loved the greeting ‘You’re still a spring chicken’ and really want to stamp it onto the sign die cut but the words were too long so I simply modified it. I die cut the piece and then using a pencil I copied the staggered edges onto a longer strip and cut around it by hand with scissors. I ran my Soft Suede marker around the outside edge to add some shading and raised the sign up on the card front using dimensionals to give is a 3D look/feel.

Once the colouring of the chickens was complete the white background looked a little harsh so I outlined the chickens with my Gray Granite Stampin Blends and added a speckle stamp from Forever Fern to look like dirt.

This card was so much fun to make and I urge to to give a chicken a new home and get the stamps and matching dies for yourself.
What is even better, if you order them before 28th Feb you will get a free product from our sale-a-bration brochure for every £45 you spend.
