I had an idea to make a diorama card using the Zoo Crew patterned paper and it came out better in reality that the vision I had in my head. I love it when that happens!

The Zoo Crew bundle lends itself to a diorama card as it has the curtain die with adds so much texture and dimension as well as the gorgeous patterned paper with so many different creatures to cut out and use.

There is hardly any stamping on this card as the characters are cut from the Zoo Crew Patterned Paper although I did colour them with Stampin’ Blends. I also added some sponged yellow to the background to mimic spotlights too.

There are three layers to this card and you can see them a little more clearly from this angle. The characters are raised up on dimensionals 3 deep (see below).

I used the deckled edged rectangle dies to create the aperture and left room at the top of the card for the greeting. The great thing about this style card is that it stands up for display so can be shared proudly on a mantlepiece.
I know that some will be asking for measurements which is not easy as different countries use different size cardstock. So I’d simply encourage you to cut two rectangles (normal card front size) and score at 1 & 2cm on both of the short ends (0.5 & 1″ if you use imperial measurements) and make the middle piece of card the same width as the card front & back but approx 1cm or 0.5″ shorter in length. The shorter the length the more space you will have between the front, middle and back layers. Have an experiment and see how it turns out.
