A funny story about my swaps at the Birmingham Pinkies Weekend…..

May 8, 2013 By Michelle Last

Good morning, hope all is well.  I wanted to share the story of my swaps with you in the hope that it may make you chuckle!

Dry-wipe-frames

We had our first weekend get together for our team of Pinkies recently in Birmingham and I wanted to make something a bit different and a bit special for all the first time attendees – the idea was a good one………..

………but the reality was not so good!

I saw on pinterest (am I ever off there I hear you say?) the idea to make a pretty frame, decorate under the glass with pretty papers etc and then make it a dry wipe board by writing your lists/messages on the front with a dry write marker – great idea I hear you say….

So if I went to Ikea and found some reasonable picture frames in pretty colours that would work perfectly.  Then off to ebay to find the dry write markers.  I then went into the next two to find some staples for my staple gun and I then decorated the frames with different papers and stamps and attached some co-ordinating ribbon to attach the markers to the side all of which took about a week!

I was rather pleased with the finished result and decided to try one out!  I did only make 20 for everyone attending (not including me) as they were quite expensive and 20 was corresponding pack size so I did not even have a spare.  Why oh why did I decide to write 'pack toilet bag' on one of the frames?

When I got up the next morning, ready to pack and leave for the weekend, I tried to rub the dry wipe marker off the frame to find it would not come off!!!!!!!!!!!

Aarrgh – it appears that dry wipe marker does not rub off frames with plastic instead of glass inside them!

So I did what everyone with no time would do, I gave everyone their swap with markers etc and explained what a load of old rubbish they were and how silly I am ;0)

And poor MIchelle Costain got the one with 'pack toilet bag' on the front! I even tried to remove it with stazon remover and it was still there!!

Hope that made you chuckle

Interactive Mini Album I've been busy behind the Interactive Mini Album

I've been busy behind the scenes creating a special mini album for my team retreat this weekend. I can't wait to spend time with my wonderful team—being creative together, sharing lots of laughs and making this beautiful keepsake. If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I have a real love for mini albums. They're one of my favourite ways to preserve memories because they tell a story that's far bigger than a single scrapbook page....
