Celebrating over 10 years with Stampin’ Up!

December 15, 2020 By Michelle Last

This week I am sharing my team members who have been with me over 10 years. I myself have been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for 13 years and in that time I have met the most amazing people, had a wealth of incredible supportive customers and a huge team scattered across Europe.

My team make me so proud and we have shared so much fun and made so many memories over our 10 Years together. I am so fortunate to call some of these ladies my friends.

Marguerite Moran Stampin Up Demo

This lovely lady is Marguerite Moran and we were crafty friends before Stampin’ Up! We actually met at a craft retreat. I did not know a soul but by the end of the weekend I knew I had met a friend for life. We continued to book the same retreats until I became a Stampin’ Up! demo and I invited Marguerite to come along to my Open House when I was launching a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

I will never forget the excitement in her eyes when she saw all the samples around the room and she joined the very same day. Marguerite has continued to share her passion for crafts and in particular scrapbooking with lots of lucky ladies. We have even hosted our own craft retreat as we are a great team.

Marguerite is a Silver titled demonstrator and has a team of loyal stampers who enjoy her beautiful projects and designs. Marguerite lives in Berkhamsted and up until this year held only in-person classes in her home. She now holds very successful classes via zoom and is always ready to do what it takes to get people crafty.

Tell us a little about you Marguerite

I’m Marguerite and live in Berkhamsted, Herts with my wonderful husband Simon.  We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in September.  We have two daughters, Rachel who is 21 and just starting work and Emily who is at university. I am a management account by trade, so like to balance out the spreadsheets with 12 by 12 inch scrapbooks! I have always had a passion for crafting, whether it be knitting, scrapbooking or sewing.

What do you love most about being a demo?

The community is the best bit about being a demo.  I love being part of Michelle’s team.  It is a really friendly, lovely group of people.  Recently I needed local advice when taking my dad to hospital quite a distance from my home.  My first point of call for help was a fellow Pinkie who very kindly recommended some lunch spots.  It truly is a network of supportive, kind people.

Why did you join?

I had had enough of Michelle going on about it to me – we all know what a nagger she is! I’m joking 😊 I was teaching scrapbooking classes and struggled to source the materials. Who doesn’t want the paper, ribbon and ink to match? – It was an easy decision!

What does your business look like?

The beauty of Stampin’ Up! is that fits around my life. I have run my business full-time and part time, depending on my time constraints. I currently run 1 to 2 classes a month and the occasional day event. I have found that classes and day events are where my strengths lie, and I definitely recommend that you try different formats till you find one that allows your skills to shine and works for you!

Your best memory of the last 10 years?

I run classes on a Tuesday evening, and we are quite an eclectic bunch with a range of ages and day jobs, however, we all love seeing each other and crafting together.  In November last year, Erin, our youngest member got married.  I was overwhelmed that she chose to invite us all to spend the day with them (and even more proud of the beautifully intricate invitations!!) – it is a really special friendship and I feel so delighted that my card classes have brought that group of people together.

One piece of advice to anyone considering buying the starter kit?

There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.  I love crafting and the products are top notch, but it’s so much more than that!  I have made so many important friends, who I would never have met otherwise and let’s be honest you can only talk to your husband about the new mini catalogue for so long – it’s nice to have a two-way conversation about it!!

I am delighted you finally know a little more about my friend and fellow team mate Marguerite. She is very mischievous and we have shared many funny moments in our time. She is also the consulate professional and can resolve any situation like no one else I know.

This was us at a CentreStage event where we had to dress up in our 80’s gear to celebrate Stampin’ Up’s 30th Anniversary.

At a Stampin’ Up! convention, Marguerite had a room a few doors down from me and used to come and knock for me so we could go down to the event together. This one evening of the Awards, she came to my room but I wasn’t quite ready as I had discovered that the security tag was still attached to my dress! I hadn’t stolen it I promise! But we were terrified to try and remove it incase we damaged the dress so between us we did not tell a soul. I was ushered up onto the stage several times and thankfully no one noticed the tag bulging out of the seam of my dress. We did laugh when we had gathered with the rest of the team afterwards though and I did get a £20 voucher from Phase Eight for my trouble!

So if you don’t already know Marguerite, why not go and check out her blog and her social links and I know she would love to see you.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Marguerite better and please stop by tomorrow to meet another member of my team who has celebrated their 10 year anniversary with Stampin’ Up! this year. Why not join the fun too, I’d love to welcome you to my team and I promise I won’t make you dress in 80’s clothes (well not straight away)…..

Interactive Mini Album I've been busy behind the Interactive Mini Album

I've been busy behind the scenes creating a special mini album for my team retreat this weekend. I can't wait to spend time with my wonderful team—being creative together, sharing lots of laughs and making this beautiful keepsake. If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I have a real love for mini albums. They're one of my favourite ways to preserve memories because they tell a story that's far bigger than a single scrapbook page....
