This was the photo I couldn't load a few days ago. I had to wait for my hubby to come home before I could shout for help! As is always the case, it worked first time as soon as he tried it 😀
This was one of the frames we had on display at the recent Hobbycrafts exhibition at the NEC. We has to fix the frames to the wall with velcro and overnight some of the frames feel off the wall which is why my frame is a little battered. Luckily the hears stayed in place.
I love how striking this is and it is really simple to make, just time consuming.
First I cut out a heart template and drew around it in pencil on the inside of the frame.
I punched out several hearts in varying colours of pink from the Designer Series Patterns Stack as they have small patterns and would not distract from the overall heart design.
I folded the hearts in half and worked on the largest flowers first making sure I only stuck one side of the heart to the back of the frame. I mixed up the colours so that one shade of pink did not got next to the same shade. Once I had filled the space with the largest flowers, I began to fill in the gaps with smaller flowers and also added hearts along the drawn pencil line to create the heart outline otherwise it might not have been recognisable as a heart.
Finally carefully rub out the pencil line. I removed the glass from the frame but you could leave it in ro protect it from dust etc…
Oh and the frame is from IKEA and here it is on the display wall at the NEC.
And I had better tell you that I had to call my sis for some help. She finished it off for me as I was running short on time – thanks Cas, there are not many people my perfectionist personality would allow to help 😀
Happy Sunday….
