Stampin’ Up! Scallop Envelope Die made into a box using fabric

January 4, 2013 By Michelle Last

So I have a little something different for  you today…..

Fabric-box

At last year's convention (it feels so wierd saying last year!!) a lovely demonstrator called Becki Ritson inspired us by using fabric covered cardstock to make a box with the scallop envelope die.  I love making papercrafts but sometimes I would like the project to last longer and be more durable and she showed us that we can easily cover cardstock and it cuts and scores like cardstock but with the extra durability of fabric.  Check out here post here

I used the Comfort Cafe fabric ££8.95 and the multipurpose adhesive Sheets (p160 £13.20 for 12 12×12 sheets) and stuck the fabric on both sides of whisper white cardstock.  I then die cut the scallop envelope using the Bigz Die £18.95 (p194) four times.

I stuck the edges together using a glue gun and secured the base too to create the box shape.  I then used my remnants to cut some flowers from the Fun Flowers Bigz die £28.95 (p 193) and finished it off with a button from the seasonal catalogue and some taffeta ribbon.

I was delighted with my box and it took pride of place on my desk for all my bits and bobs and I was getting frustrated that my tombow glue took so long to reach the thin nozzle so I wanted to store it upside down but it was getting lost in the box so I took it a step further and created some inserts…..

I measured the depth and width and cut some thick chipboard to the correct size and covered in the same fabric and it have made sections which hold my tombow and other items perfectly.

And this little beauty sits on my desk ensuring that my tombow is ready to go at a moments notice!

Not long till sale-a-bration which launches on 22nd Jan and if you would like to receive more information via my customer newsletter please don't hesitate to email me and let me know.

I am busy creating lots of lovely things with the new items and cannot wait to share them with you.  I am off to Holland next weekend to visit my Dutch team and I am so excited, it will be so great to meet them in person.

Have a great weekend and I may have a something lovely to share with you next week xx

And it has turned out pretty well. I love the final look of your work. The fabric obviously made everything better, that’s what it does best. Anyway, I would love what exactly you used for this project.

Interactive Mini Album I've been busy behind the Interactive Mini Album

I've been busy behind the scenes creating a special mini album for my team retreat this weekend. I can't wait to spend time with my wonderful team—being creative together, sharing lots of laughs and making this beautiful keepsake. If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I have a real love for mini albums. They're one of my favourite ways to preserve memories because they tell a story that's far bigger than a single scrapbook page....
